What a strange problem, pls keep me updated.

My bike also very hot sometime esp in the afternoon, but never die??

the bike charge at full voltage at 4000 rpm onwards, use the multimeter to run the test again, rev it up to 4000rpm, and see wats the voltage reading, if its anything above 13V, then your alternator, regulator/rectifier is fine.

as for your stalling woes, it can be something else...so it doesnt stall when the bike is cold?

At first i checked the voltage is +-12V. Then after changing rectifier become around 14V like that. So shouldnt be rectifier problem. As for engine dying off, when i ride for some time, like the bike become hot, the engine dies off then cannot start. But after the engine cools down, I'm able to start the bike again. Mech told me because of charging coil. What you think?

can be alot of causes....your charging seems pretty ok (I think)

and i feel that u should check your fuel pump and your fuel pump relay

Checked the fuel pump already also no problem with it. Sianz... Any of these isnt cheap. :nono:

i'm not sure if dis is related but my bike starts easily when cold, gotta hold down ignition longer when hot. mech guessed starter coil problem. could it somehow interfere wif the firing of the spark plugs?

since u hav confirmed fuel pump and battery/rectfier is ok,

can try swapping the cdi with another zx4 and see if the problems persists. btw is ur bike currently at sanfu? i saw a stripped zx4 at sanfu on thursday.

my previous zx4 also got same problem....until my rectifier got fried on the way back from jb. after modding to yamaha rectifier, the problem solved. (i also change starter relay together with rectifier)

After changing rectifier the voltage problem is solved but the engine still dies off. Then mech told me is charging coil but it aint cheap.

i have a gut feeling that your pilot circuit is rich.

how many turns out u have for your air screw?

i'm with you on this one... easy starts and poor idling on warm engine sure points at that.. but i guess you'll know how to tune it much better than me! :D

not sure about the colour. like i said ur baby is stripped naked and groped by the fat mech. :p yup im riding zx4 as well and was sourcing for my pillion seat in that area on that day. but i guess ur bike is in good hands. the fat mech i mentioned about used to be one of the better mechs at southern motors. he still recognise my bike after quite some time.

How much did u pay for the rectifier?

Gi guys,

do anyone have the specs and website of the ZX4?

I saw that a new bike with comprehensive OTR cost $13800 at price list thread in "Why pay more".

So I am interested to find out more because I am getting class 2A soon and considering a 2A bike.

X1R for sale: Fully stock Oct 2010 mileage 20k $6.5k

Not sure. Have to go down tomorrow. Havent find a buyer for your ZX4?

Still no buyer yet, can take my time. my bike now in tip top condition, so if let go now also a waste.

i dropped by evershine last week and they have a brand new L9 there. it has a weird blue colour muffler though. the tauke quote the machine price at $12k. so total cost should be ard 13-13.5k, depending on insurance. no harm giving them a call.

my bike is now at workshop after my accident coupla weeks ago. anyway idling appears fine it's just the starting dat's difficult when engine is warm. i get around it by opening the throttle almost 1/3 while stabbing the ignition button.

so assuming i go on riding my zx after repairs ($$$ all the fairing), maybe u can teach me how 2 check once it's back.

ride safe.
