btw if wanna service the fork need how much ar ? like changin the oil etc .. also normally where u all go for full servicing ? how much ? wat does the mech do for the full servicing ? coz i knoe not many mech know how to do zxr gd enuf so see whether got any intro not ...

eh my front got this creaky sound leh...when i push from side stand to normal riding postion...wat the problem?

though i ride onli a few days but i can say zxr400 is good....apart from it's poor acceleration...dunno y ...wait til got $ then go tune....the cornering and handling is superb lor....as well as it's nice low tone sound

well think mi gonna haf that problem soon liao...font forks really cranky....haiz...but apart for sound still performing well leh...hmm...eh when u guys wan to go get the waterwetter n distilled water? then after go somewhere reliable to flush the coolant system....anyway anyone of u guys know which is the stock balancer? mine ugly leh....thinking of changing....

the stock balancer is it a small small one? silver one rite? think exams over gg to change liao...any1 knoes where got sell signal lights compatible for zxr? and pillion pegs?

oh ya i agree with il4 to be zxr owner must be delicate with this baby...mi starting to learn to appreciate it liao...

is cbr's pillion peg the small foldable one dat can hide under the pillion seat? coz my fren one is like dat so very good can jus hide inside no need got big big metal on the outside ...

eh how to knoe if my rear shock need greasing ah? wat abt front forks? how will i knoe if the oil seals need changing? wat abt steeing cone? wat is cone bearing btw? oh ya i just realised my right rear signal not working leh...check liao but no faulty wiring leh...wonder wat's wrong haiz....this is bad.....advice pls....

a) a bike that is well maintained and u only pay for its regular maintenance interval

izzit so ? or issit something wrong with your tuning or wat ? mi cant comment coz haven take bike yet .. but below 4.5k rpm wat do u mean by sluggish (how slow)?

really slow lor...just move off slowly..like no power like that...after 4.5k then got power....after exams then go tune ba.....

valve clearance?hmmm when wash n tune carb that time tgt do one is it? coz i heard that to clear valve gotta change gaskets ah? or wat?

well, did my valve clearance recently at loois. plus other knick knacks such as clutch cable, engine oil. the labour cost, including the valve clearance, was just over a hundred bucks. probably retensioned my cam chain, not too sure, but engine sounded damn smooth after dat. just the pure pleasure of the exhaust note.

 

bike originally fitted wif super4 muffler but managed 2 salvage another muffler from a condemned zx (gold colour... sound familiar?) but later on ppl told me illegal pipe (its a straight thru but sounds great). no discernable difference in performance until u hit higher rpms, such as above 5k. the illegal pipe is certainly better.

 

most expensive parts so far (not counting my recent accident) r the tires ($320, gpr 70) n the sprocket/chain replacements ($200). otherwise as il4 sez just normal engine oil change ($54, 3 litres esso 4t gold).

 

response is better after 4k rpm but below dat is no slouch either, my previous bike was a nsr150sp n the zx definitely picks up in a greater hurry comparatively. i dare say only other 2a/2 bikes or large litre cars can match or exceed its acceleration. dat's when i change gears at abt 5k rpm (so i'm not even trying!).

 

power comes at a price i suppose... i managed 2 kiss the backside of a car... now fairing all broke... damn...

 

oh, n it's a 5 year old bike.

It is very important to to preventive maintenance at certain regular service intervals.

 

when its time to change your engine oil, u do it....brake pads....spark plugs...oil filter, air filter.....carbs cleaning, VALVE CLEARANCES etc etc

 

this applies to every bikes.....HENCE in a nutshell maintenance of everybike is more or less THE SAME.

zxr better use full synthetic. I use semi syntheic and straigh away i feel the engine is very rough. good brand will be rock oil and castrol rs

mobil gold not fully synthetic? hmm....i intend to stick to my preferred mobil gold leh...haven tried it on zxr yet though....eh anyone knoes how much is the costs n where to change bearing ah? think mine gone liaoz....
