ridiculous parking offence. help

I receive a summon for parking at the small road outside Sembawang Shopping Center.

From what I know all bike park semi-adjacent and cars park parallel to the road side.

The summon say "parking not parallel to roadside causing obstruction" issued by Ramky Cleantech Services

I am sure I did not cause any obstruction, there are also other bikes

what can I do?

The summon says "your vehicle is reported for the above offence.

as this is not an offer of composition, please do not make payment to Ramky Cleantech Services or

to the Land Transport Authority. A notice of traffice offence will be sent to the registered vehicle in due course.

Doing a search on this cleantech service company. seems like it is a cleaning company.

Are they really qualified to do parking work diligently or are they trying to reach quota for this festive season?

i also kena fine in my own car park for not parking properly but not in a way that obstruct vehicles. some more i got season parking and not enough car park. the company is ST electronics info comm systems (WTF).

Does this offence means bike can only park parallel with the road?

If so, that would means 1 bike park there = to 1 space lost for the 4 wheelers who frequently patronize there.

I generally will have preferred that such garbarge truck simply roll all over whatever vehicles or in our cases, the small bikes which the Garbarge Truck fellas ride to work. Pick up such errant bike and simply sent it for incineration. No fuss, no muss.

No. The trick is to park parallel flush to the Kerb. When either you park head in or head out between vehicles it makes for drivers cannot have the ample space to move their vehicle out.

 

Do the park head in, butt out or the head out butt at the kerb, only when you have plenty of bikes to offer you a buffer and use up one car parallel lot.

So ganna summon for such a reason, is exactly why there is a summon. Accept that if you are not in a parking lot, or the fact that there isn't parking lot there. These are the reasons. If you cannot accept that parking lots are not in abundance at your convenience. You know the rest of the scathing remarks I will be be giving.

living in a hdb estate with narrow roads leading to rubbish compacter.... and frequently cars illegal park in front of compacter because too lazy to park at multi storey, or else genuinely need to do quick drop off but clowns park at unloading lots for hours.....

 

i say you don't park to show consideration to other people parking their vehicles. you park to show consideration for the rubbish truck that needs to squeeze in.

 

a few times i need to genuinely do a loading/unloading, i park car without caring other cars cannot park so long i dont block the rubbish truck. i never park there longer than 20mins because i only ever do it in genuine loading/unloading cases and i expect others who need to do the same to wait because i have a right to 15mins of unloading time, and nobody has a right to park there for hours in place of the multi-storey.

Having worked as Property Management at a Church.

 

We had a really difficult time with people, who arent Church goers. But because we have free parking. They come in, not even borthered to park at the carpark. Which is free, sheltered and with CCTV service. And it wasnt a church day, so there is plenty of spaces.

 

They just went and park at small roads or loading and unloading area and it totally blocks the garbarge trucks.

 

And even when we acquired wheel clamps. They will still grumble and grumble.

 

It got so bad, that everyday, I will simply block off that small road with lots of water filled road side barricades. Imagine an hour every morning and night doing it.

 

And some more smart arse will move the barricades themselves just because they think they have always been church goers and wants to park their cars where they can see from the coffee shop near that Catholic Church.

 

And can you imagine been woken at 6am in the morning. Because those morning market shopping smart arse, have parked and not looking that the Garbarge truck was unloading the previous day Garbarge and trapped the Garbarge Truck inside that small road.

 

And another time when the Garbarge truck was not able to get into the compund and they had to leave the smelly bins there till 8pm at night where they can come and empty out a day worth of rubbish. All of the people, within the 2km area have to tahan the smell till can get off work.

So unless your vehicle has broken down, and you have no choice but to park at the side of the road.

 

Or that you are a season parking holder but the lots are taken up.

 

You really do not have the excuse to be parking anywhere else, and suggesting others are inconsiderate to fine you.

Been parking similarly there since years ago, encounter traffic warden patrol, never had an issue.

Further more that night I was park beside another bike.

Not sure if he had got it as he had left went I got back.

there are several other bikes who also received the summons.

Either all the bikers dont know how to park properly, or new rule are not properly inform to the public, or the traffic warden did not do his job diligently.

 

Never see this kind of new parking rules on lta web site either.

correct me if i'm wrong, but you can only park at second (single yellow) and fourth (two lanes each direction); and must be such a way that vehicle is parallel to road.

 

if sembawang road is one of these two and your bike not exactly parallel and then the cleaner deems it obstructing, frankly its the cleaner's discretion versus yours and you're on a losing end if its not exactly parallel, consideration for other bikers irrelevant. and bear in mind the cleaner takes picture to submit TP for the summons to be processed, so if you do receive the summons then TP agrees with the cleaner based on the pic.
