License= $600-800

Bike= ON THE ROAD (means ready to ride) from $800-$3000+ (KR or sp that type is higher while 800 can get an old bike)

thts the problem brudder. i dun hve frens who ride bikes. let alone kr. n i not too sure how to check too. i always see ppl throttle while covering the exhaust pipe. i dun even know y they do tht... haha.. a couple of my frens who ride ar also newbies n they assume tht their bike is in gd condition. they did test ride. but they dun really hve much knowledge on bikes.

wat sia, throttle while covering exhaust, i think its their way of checking the bike, alot of ppl got different ways of checking, for me, get a new one is the best, no need to check so much.

For now, its best if you concentrate on getting ur license, no use plan so far ahead if halfway u give up coz u think its too hard. many i know succumbed to that. Most importantly, learn how to ride safely and defensively. Everything else will fall in place after that.

To ride on the road, You need skills,Stamina, or even luck.

total cost to bring bike from original owner to u:

machine price + transfer fee + insurance

insurance = age of rider + model and age of bike + premium (1st, 2nd or 3rd party coverage)

transfer fee = should be a flat $80 for most 2b bikes

Of coz, u mite have to pay more if u get it from shops, as dey got so many paperwork and crap for u to deal with

if u buy bike from a private owner?

where do u all do those paperwork?

can u get the bike on that day?

thanks in advance

First, call up ins company to quote yr ins. get the cheapest one, go pay for the ins, Tell the clerk to start the ins date which u will transfer the bike. Just go to LTA with the owner of the bike and pay the transfer fee. Show them yr license and ins, so long vaild, on the spot u can take the bike and go already.
