Ya, 6000rpm is about right till about 80km/h, after that, be prepared to enter the 8000rpm zone! When I had my 'P' model, I remember bringing her up to 160km/h and it was about 11-12000rpm, but I swore never to do it again as I lost both my mirrors, cracked my head cowl fairing as well as having to clean dead insects off that and my visor, but as what most other owners will agree, the inline-4 engine on the bandit runs real smooth at those kinds of speed compared to what you would get doing 80-90km/h.

Anyone interested in a K&N air filter for a Suzuki Bandit 'P' model? Comes practically brand new as it will be recharged for the new owner, installation included if you pick it up from my place in Bukit Timah.

The price of the bandit 1250 is really cheap i heard. Can match a Fazer 600's price.

the all new 2008 GSX600F looks outstanding. i was thinking of grabbing it but unfortunately, i don't think it will ever reach our shores.

it's a 650F rebuilt. Fairings added, handling has been revised. fuel injection and a smaller fuel tank at 18.5 litres.

looks gorgeous and handles really well. it's a brand new rival to the Fazer 600, kawasaki ER-6N , cb600 hornet.

Hi guys,

Need to check b4 committing myself in a bandit V. What are the common things need to repair when taking over a 10 years bandit V? How much is valve cleaning, overhaul and other major wear and tear?

I was debating to get a bandit V, then spend some $$ to repair and hope still can mod. The total $$ spend may be equivalent to getting a second hand S4 but still worth it because you got a better performance bike.

Thanks a lot and cheers!!!

Well I think it's engine performance is around the same as a super-four. But it's rare, has expensive looking clip-on handle bars, mono-shock, and a nice variable cam engine. Whenever you park you bike for some time (say overnight) just check if there is any liquid under your bike which might be engine oil, coolant residue etc. If there is make sure you pinpoint the leak and get it fixed.

The bandit's engine is bullet-proof but at times it can be moody on cold and especially rainy days. If yours is still in good condition it should be smooth without foreign sound. And when you pass the 7K Rpm mark, you can hear the rocker arm turning to activate the high speed cam. Your bike should be able to hit 190km/h, tried it in malaysia.

Although I cannot quote you the exact amount for valve clearing etc, I can recommend a bikeshop, bikeworkz located at 157 Kaki Bukit Ave 1 #01-00 Shun Li Ind Pk, Tel: 67476774. The boss is a skinny chinese guy named "Ah Beng". He is decent and very helpful. He will try to help you save money when repairing your bike in a professional way.

If you have the extra cash you can always change your pipe to a street-legal GPR one (The only pipe for bandit 400 sadly), like what I have done. Cost me $580 incl installation.

Well for me, I am riding the VV model and for a 12 litre main tank before reserve, I can go 250kms which equates to 20km/litre (That is if I am not feeling throttle-happy). :cheeky:

I am riding a VV as well. My main tank is only like 10L! Did you change your tank or something? I am tired of the range of the bandit v. My full tank plus reserve is only 12 to 13L and so I get like 280km or thereabout and have to top up already . Anyway to get a bigger fuel tank or something? I read the bandit p fuel tank is 16L. Think I can install that on the V?

Thanks for the assurance that the engine is good. I heard some rumours saying the engine is lousy and not reliable. The bike is for daily transportation and occasionally Msia trip. I definately dont want to break down in the middle of nowhere in msia...

Was checking a few now and try to select a descent one. Hope can get one by next few weeks.

Again, thx...

The bandit V manual did state the total tank with 3L reserve is 15L. I don't think there is a aftermarket tank for this bike. Maybe your bike's consumption is higher than normal? Not too sure what's the cause.
