I got my at DIY shop at IMM level 2, around $16+. Some of them got it at AMK NTUC Hub next to AMK MRT around $15+.

Apply the stuff on a spot, rub it in in small circular motion and your polishing cloth will turn black. Continue polish with this black stuff for a while and then wipe clean and you will see the result.

The longer you polish the better the result but make sure you clean all the rust first.

both places r out of way for me...but perhaps, i will just drop by & get em all for myself! :clapping: if only we got meet-ups...:p

field report...

why i wanted to go for servicing : when i start the bike, idle idle.. then engine die... must open choke or hold 3k rpm for a while, b4 the engine can continue idling

also when i throttle very little from rest, almost moving the throttle by 0.1cm, the idling dropped.....

also, somewhere from the bike had this clicking sound, which was verified to be the tensioner...

anyway, went to guan hoe today

initially wanted to wash carb / valve clearance / change tensioner

after some rev rev of the bike, and playing around with the carb...

boss uncle and hassan (frenly malay chap) both agreed that.. in order to help me save $$

do those things that need to do

what was done :

tensioner and tensioner gasket change = $87.10

3 Washers on the engine block = $7.20

3 bottles of engine oil (shell fully syn) = $73.50

worksmanship cost = $15 (Air filter wash + rough carb servicing* + balancing)

*normal carb washing, will strip down every single thing to the jet needle etc etc

they simply removed the 4 carb casings, knocked out the diry rust and petrol residue, washed it, and a quick "petrol treatment" for all the rest of the carb.............

total $185.50

to be honest, i am not a fan of Shell EO.... but i must say, for their specialized knowledge and familiarity with suzuki bikes... i will go there for major servincing

other things like EO change, just do it at your convenient venue

(my 2$ worth)

hi everyone, can i join u guys? just got my bandit yesterday and got starter probs... i guess i need a new batt. seen u guys post that this YTX9-BS dry cell is compatible for the bandit, was wondering where can i get it and wats the price range like?

is changing that battery manageable by DIY or requires some major parts removal... so sad... got yesterday, now cant start..... just another question, do all batteries come charged to full or empty?

:(

Hey all,

I am hoping someone here can help me. I own a 1997 Suzuki Bandit, GSF400 model GK75A. I live in Tanzania and parts are in very short supply for Asian (not Chinese) bikes in Africa. One of my radiator hoses and my clutch handle have broken recently and the bike is off the road. I have been able to rig emergency replacements up until now. This bike was exported from Singapore last October and is an Asian model. Parts can not be bought in North America or Europe as I discovered with much dismay last month. As I don't speak Japanese, much less read it, I am at my ropes end for ordering parts.

If anyone can recommend a motorcycle shop that sells parts for this bike AND is able to export the parts to Africa AND can help me in English or in a pinch, Thai, well, lets just say I would be a very happy camper and that shop might find itself with quite a few new customers. The clutch handle is my most pressing concern right now.

Thanking you in advance.

This is a story about four people: Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.

There was a bandit outing to be organized and Everybody was asked to do it.

Everybody was sure Somebody would do it.

Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.

Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.

Everybody thought Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody

wouldn't do it.

It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when actually Nobody asked Anybody.
