I maybe selling my Street R at the end of this year (job will finish = adios Singapore, again, maybe), so the wait in you selling your bike is a bit of a concern.

Can't understand it though as its a really cool bike.

I guess I was selling at the wrong time. The price of a new bike is very low now :(

Yes bro. Been wanting to get back on a Ducati. I used to have a Monater 400

Having ridden the Monater 400 and Street Triple, I feel that the Monster lets me corner with much more confidence. It is more purpose built for that sort of stuff. I wouldn't say the same for longer distance or longer duration riding or riding in slow traffic though.

On the other hand, the Street Triple does everything so well! But maybe not that good in attacking corners(maybe I'm lousy). The engine is perfect balance between a L twin and inline 4. It's the best bike I've ever owned. Quality is also top notch for a European marque. I didn't sell it because there was something wrong with it. I sold it because I want to try another bike :)

so you getting street fighter/monster?

Wanna try something more extreme and still naked. Decided to go with the Streetfighter S.

Certainly extreme, a real beast of a bike.

Regarding handling of the Street, I throw the bike around without any bother with full confidence. The sides of my rear tyre ( SuperCorsa Diablo ) have no chicken strips ( the front has though, but you'ld have to be seriously on the side to do away with them ).

What is the approximate cost of a new Street Triple and R version?

Approx cost for the ST3 is 16k and 18k for the R version.. Both machine price.. Otr should be 3-4k plus more.. Road tax, coe, insurance, gst etc..

My STR was broken down like this if I remember correctly..

S$18,000 machine

S$20,000 otr wo coe & insurance

S$23,000 otr w coe & insurance

Congrats (or commiserations) on the sale of your bike.

Someone got a bargain.

I guess I may have to brace myself towards the end of the year. If I do manage to stay in the country I'll keep it though, I can't think of a better bike to ride the streets of Singapore on, everyday, rain or shine.

Thanks mate. The new owner even offered to let me be the sub-rider when I told him that I can't bear to part with my Street Triple. Top bloke!

It's undeniable that this is the perfect bike for virtually everything (except for off road). You should keep it as long as you could. But it's hard ... With all the other temptations out there ... :p

In an ideal world, it would be nice to build up a bike collection.

But seeing that I have more children than motorbikes, that ain't going to happen soon.

Yeah .. I wish I can keep all the bikes that I once owned .. Honda Shadow 125, Gilera Runner 200, Ducati Monster 400, Triumph Street Triple 675, Harley Davidson Sportster Iron 883 (still in my stable).

 I have more bikes than children (none to be exact).
