+1 Keep the revs moving and avoid trying to accelerate under 3k, change down and accelerate, use the engine to brake as much as possible. Go easy on the tyres as well, tempting to get carried away  Check the engine oil level religously , new engines can use quite a bit till they settle in, if there are any problems you can go back to the dealer with a clear conscience and not get BS over warranty :deal:.

I'ts torture for that first 1k km :( :dozed:

Pity I didn't see the meetup post till too late, sounds like you had a lively time.:thumb:

I am a beliver of the other method of running in engine. Most of my cars i run in this way > http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm

I usually change my oils ard 300km and run it with semi sync oil for 500-1k km before completing my run in.

What i did not do is to run in with semi sync oil or mineral oil for the 1st 100km as what the author says. Cos car engine oil change more ex. :D

Another article with similar run in process...

hey guys, need ur advise here...when running in, at wat speeds do u guys change ur gear at?

by the way, i think i saw u at mah on sat yohji..along with another triple rider the uncle..

Oh?! Yah I was talking to the garang uncle. He is riding his triple to Thailand AGAIN.

When running in, I just make sure I don't go over the RPM that is stated in the manual and I change gears as often as I could BUT once in a while, I'll give the bike a good rev while riding. Speed doesn't really matter as long as you don't exceed the stated RPM. I guess??? I'm no bike engine guru.

I was thinking of an early morning run to check out Sibu Island resort, maybe onto Mersing for lunch or just straight back. Free for evening coffe though.

Vara is gone but back strain lingers on o_O

I know what you mean. It's actually the cam timing chain or something like that. It's located near the front of the engine, just below the tank. Went to Mah before but not much difference. It's normal for the irritating ticking sound. Just rev your bike harder and you won't hear it hahaha!!

Woah that is a little ... ambitious hehe. I think I'll be quite worn-out this weekend. Maybe we can do that another time? Sorry :( The rest can join you though :)
