Everyone has a story, what's yours?

I had already fallen in love with RVFs even before I gotten my license, so it was my dream bike back then.My dad was & always will be a Vespa rider so it was no suprise that my first bike was indeed a vespa, to serve the purpose of saving up for my RVF. It was a lovely clone of Max Biaggi's motoGP Camel scheme then & it served me for the next few years or so. I thought i'd just stick with it & we'd go places but when the moto-GP inspired 600rr3 came out, gosh, i probably realised I would be an idiot not to get it. However I didn't realise it was also the start of all my troubles. While most of you know, I did work in the motortrade for some years & my bosses in the workplace was giving me grief, due to the fact that i had bought a bike from another shop, other than theirs (well, ultimately I'm a consumer, i need to get good deals as well!) so John was really giving me the stick. Eventually, I threw a chair at one of the directors in one morning & got kicked out, the irony being everyone else in the same office also quitted by that same afternoon. Well, at least I get to keep the bike! I jumped from one shop to another, get good prices for parts & do basic repairs which I often helped the fellow forumers here with. I realised then that I had started to appreciate anything with 2 wheels.

.....

Practically I was a Honda man, but after much consideration, the CB1K didn't really fit the bill if I had a choice to upgrade. I wanted more power in a bike without having to spend so much $ on it. The Suzy was I think, a good choice as I didn't like the handling of the Yammys & Kawis (also cos I had a hard time keeping up with them on the tracks!). All in all, it was quite a good deal, & i haven't regretted it yet. Could possibly go back to Honda once my Suzuki days are over... :cheeky:

Bosses giving you undue pressure just because you bought a bike from another place, in US, you'd probably be a millionaire already.

I'm sure other forumers appreciate your help. I for one do, you delivered a magazine I wanted to borrow to my doorstep. I still have not had the chance to blanja you makan. :(

Thanks for pointing out. Just realized that it's also F1 weekend in KL, nice time to party, but hotel prices are quite pricey, nevertheless, I got corporate rates, so it's RM240++ per night.

Staying at Imperial Hotel. Right in the smack of town, where the action is.

U bought the new Honda Fit/Jazz eh, Tash?

Nice car. Hope u got the yellow one with the Honda bodykit. Moonroof and the lighted sideskirts.

Thanks, got the RS version with skyroof. 3 quarter of the roof is glass, very nice, can't wait for it to arrive. LED side skirts are nice, but ex. Definitely would love to have it on my to do list. Never thought I'd fall in love with a small car. Did a lot of research on it also. If you guys want to know where to find a good price or want to know about the car, can ask me, heh.

e.g.

The front windshield and skyroof actually has about 100% UV protection so it makes fitting solar film pointless.

The RS version comes with extra soundproofing, so you don't need to spend that couple of hundreds extra to do it.

Also, because of regulation, all Japanese cars come with semi syn oil off the factory. Headache again, dunno how to do high rev run in. I wonder if this also apply to bikes. Any ideas?

Sure would like to see a few more comments on that thread other than a son showing his dad filial piety, ahahaha. :cheeky:

Dad must now have the racing spirit of a mat rempit. Woohoo!

Sometimes, a little gunk in the engine is good, it fills up the cavities that would otherwise cause leakage. I remember doing flushing in my old carb Pajero, that was when the problems started, gunk flushed out, the oil seal was leaking. Changed to fully syn oil even worse, even more gunk got dissolved out over time, more leaks. I remember changing the seal 3 or 4 times.

Moral of the story, if not driving high rev performance cars, no need to use fully syn oil.

Similarly, the dentist also told me this, the tar tar that fill up cavities in the teeth are sometimes good, prevents bacteria from getting in and eventually leading to tooth decay. But when I told them I have not visited the dentist since secondary school (more than 15 years), he was surprised that i have no tooth decay at all. The secret to my beautiful teeth is that I don't eat sweets, drink less sugar water and use vertical brushing strokes rather than horizontal, as taught in primary schools.
