Not a fan of V4. Anyway the V4 plant should be going for the sport touring range and not for the CBR range.

Nope, CB is reserved for inline, R stands for racer, hence inline racer. This would probably be a VFR. :dozed:

Actually I read up from somewhere, the new V4 plant will be on a new model range. Not to replace VFR or Blackbird.

Yeah, that's what the Honda Preseident likes us to think, "new breed of bike", no matter how he spins it, it still looks like a sports tourer to me. :cheeky:

Maybe like the V twin, 2 years after they introduce a sports tourer, they'll introduce a V4 sportsbike.

It just to cater for different group of ppl. V engine lack the top end power which is why they need a higher cc to compensate for it. Inline 4 lack the low and mid range compared to a similar V engine cc. However I suppose no one is complaining a 1000cc low and mid range power nowadays.

Sounds like you're describing a V twin, a V4 is a different animal, lots of low-down grunt, a fat midrange and a storming top end, a fantastic mix of big twin and IL4. Check out the reviews on the RSV4.

Before the RSV4, when was the last time we saw a V4 sportsbike? Maybe more than 20 years ago. Most of us here wouldn't have had the chance to ride one.

I heard today for 2010, there might not be an updated Blade, maybe just another color change. The economy is not doing too well and most manufacturers have a reduced work week now, with production slowing down. Time will tell.

Actually if you were to compare a cbr400 and rvf400, you will roughly get the idea. RVF have a better low and mid range but never have the top end of a cbr. I do agree with you regarding a V4 engine being a best of both world but in fact it master of none. Normally reivew is focusing on low to mid range riding which is mostly targeted towards track and street riding which obviously, V4 is a clear winner, no doubt. But having such a big cc, I would expect it kinda of hard to use 6th gear to ride in SG road. Anyway, I am just a happy rider riding inline bikes
