having tots of getting an 08/09 cbr 1000. may i noe wads the price range of 2nd hand on da market now?

 

is there any defect frm manufacturer?

 

use to ride cbr 954 before downgrading to k7 600. 954 had conrod problem, 07 cbr 1k has coil problem and k7 600 has rectifier proplem but solved.

hi im riding 05 model n changed coil last year under warranty at mah motor. that was the first time i changed it. any one here ever change more than one time??

 

im planning to go mah motor cuz my bike not charging again.

so whoever have ever changed more than 1 time there can u please tell me how much money i must bring?? cuz i scared they say must buy battery or watsoever.

bring roughly ard 300+..

 

coz u might need to change batt n rect together with the coil n flywheel.. =)

no prob..

 

rect alone costs ard 150+ if not wrong..

 

batt 90- 120+ depending on brands..

 

+ labour costs.. probably 70-80+?

Is yours a PI or agent bike? Few pages back it was discussed, should be under warranty still, so the coil and flywheel should be replaced FOC. There's an extended warranty that covers it.

 

The coil and flywheel comes as a part, so make sure you replace both.

Anybody knows a plastic molding company that fabricates plastic?

 

I got an aftermarket hugger from Honda, but I don't like the shiny black paint, I want it matte black with a rough texture, like the stock hugger, so I was thinking of OEM-ing one.

 

Anyone interested? Maybe can fabricate a couple more for those who are interested.

n rect n batt will be affected when ur coil is fried..

so changing all at one go is recommended.. =)

mine is from mah. its pi. but the mechanic says this bike sure got this problem . and yes i got back the bike after i left it a few days at mah. the mechanic told me he will call me to quote the price but didnt. wen i reach mah he already change the coil. n i dont even know whether he got change the flywheel or not. then he says sumtin like next time no warranty or wat cuz he says my coil is the last piece. like trying to tell me that next time i must pay for the coil. then he also says the original battery cost 190 n the rectifier 200. damn daylight robbery sia. i went hkl original honda rectifier only like 160. then the china gal talk to people like wat the **** service like tat. while waiting for my bike i sat down with another biker i just know there he also says he get the same treatment . **** up service. they dont even bother to explain enything like wats wrong with the bike n etc etc. just fix -give back- n u can **** off. just becuz they must do it for free. then wats the warranty for if u cant order anymore?? n fix for us?? sianzzzzzz

My thinking, it is very easy to check to see if a batt can still hold charge, so don't change unless it is confirmed the batt can't hold charge anymore.

 

Also, I think our rectifier and regulator is a unit, rectifier is to convert the current from AC to DC while the regulator ensures a the current doesn't go beyond certain voltage, maybe 14.5v or something. So after changing the coil and flywheel, using a voltmeter, if you can see a constant voltage, don't have to change as well, unless you are craz, loaded with cash.

Hey Okada, I did, but the clear coat on CF will scratch, and look ugly. I thought matte black will go with the rest of the plastics found around that area.

Hey CF, after looking at the box, there's a pack of screws and latches that is required, it would be tough to dupicate those as well, looks like I'm keeping it. Probably will use some paint remover as the underside is matte.

 

Tell me about it man. It is a looooong wait. Mine's coming in Aug as well. I've got all accessories, new jacket and everything on standby.
