Hai.... same wave lenght mate!

My reply's in Blue...

Stoner: Done up at Sportlink, it work wonderfully under 1up but as mention 2up is sh!t. Not because of a the rebuild process but the I just feel that the original Spring Rate and Rebound an't build for any pillion + storeage box in mind.

Stoner: Hmmm... Some how, feel that the item is overpriced.

Stoner: Hai.... Worried about that too... .thus, still considering.

well, its only meant for the bike, max 2ups, w/o boxes...

In jap, they seldom load it all over the bike for this bike.

Not like our S4s here.. lol..

As for the Ohs... well, its reknown all over the world, so, paying for the quality there. :thumb:

Hai.... Shocks aside... Getting them isn't much of a hoo-har as the current market still have them in stock..

Now...looking a good pair of E36 or E45 is becoming a major pain in the butt....

Or you might wanna drop by BikeLab for a change of springs for your Showa. I used to be a Fat Ass and that has taken a toll on my springs. Rebound wise is still good considering a 3 yr old bike. Just that the spring soften way too much. to cut cost, get the springs changed, top up gas and you're gd to go. Our Showas are heavy duty shocks. The above mentioned shocks you say are more for performance riding.

I did consider the V35... but the cost and bulk size just not my cup of tea.... lol.

Looking back the last few posts... I decided to go for the basic look.... E36/45 lol!

Yes, but the new prices are wooooooo sky high....

Actually, the V35, if retro-fitted nicely, should fit in the rear, and not as protruding as the E35/45.

As the E series are rectangular in shape, it'll be more wide @ the rear.

Well, as for the production, these are not produced frm the neighbouring country and need to be shipped in, so, its all about the costs...

Yes, the V35 should fit in nicely and not too bulky as the E36/45. The E series are actually stil available in the Europe. They are made in Italy. I've seen another brand that is exactly the same as the E36/45. Brand is Cassano Bags. Think available across the causeway or maybe you can try looking at old ahpek2 mototiam ard SG.

Yes... All custom made by Seng Kwang. Even handlebars of the AETOS/Cisco Bold'Ors are fabricated by them.

I did initially consider fitting on the V35... but one of the main reasons for switching to the basic old school E45 is due to my dream trip to north Thailand.

The Pros of having the V35 are mainly the looks and style. however when compared to the old school E36/45 and putting cost aside.

Pros of having E36/45 over the V35 (IMHO)

~ It's easy to pack one's stuff into a E36/45 as they are of boxy in design.

~ It's made of non-smooth spray painted finish. Easier to care for.

~ Even if the bike is to topple over... one heart won't feel that painful as compared with a V35.

~ A canvas bag could be easily ordered (Tailored) for touring as a soft fit-in Pannier bag than for the V35.

~ Having a expose arc Handle allows me to mount extra stuff on top of it using bicycle hooks. (Should I need to do so)

Mah Motors does sell the E45s... You'll be shock to know that they an't cheap either... a brand new pair of E45 does cost more than half a Grand$$$! That's for the boxes only!

hi all, i would like to install a top box and rear rack for my version s. my version is currently installed with H&B panniers. Would like to avoid going to 2 separate places for installation. Preferably a single shop for installation. Any shops that can attend to the installation after 630pm?

Thanks!

Guys,

Having a small issue with my box...sometimes whenever i ride above 100...my box latch is unable to hold on.The box is not lock...Dont feel good...scared my things will fly off without my knowledge..

Any of u guys ever encountered this issue or knows whats the problem?

Im using Givi box..think it 45L (can fit 2 helmets)...and the box is also vibrating quite badly...is it normal?

Im suspecting the latch is not good...any advice..?

You mean the locking mechanism that holds your box to the base? If it is, then your nylon base plate has four rubber studs. Those could be worn out. Mine also the same. I use the rubber caps for the chair legs to put over the rubber studs for better holding of the box to the base plate. Adds tension to the locking mechanism.

Sorry bro..not that locking mechanism...its the box itself...used to put the box at pulsar and rarely have any issue but keep on having problem when put the box onto my s4...the box is Givi simply 45L....when running at high spec the latch loosen and box is able to open....if u see my signature the box is slanted slightly..not sure if this plays a part as well...or is it the latch mechanism at the box is already not good?...check with my bikeshop and the mech dun find any issue with the box...able to lock etc...anyone knows how to change the locking mechanism...or i need to replaced the whole box already?

Another thing is the base plate...my box is wobbling but when remove and check the base plate...it is firmly secured.check with the mech and he says its normal...big box always shaking like dat....anyone using the givi simply 45L...is yours the same like mine..or box is not wobbling at all...

Any advice..appreciate..

1) Adjust your box to be parallel to the ground instead of facing towards the air.

There's 2 versions of E450, earlier versions is a single lock:

later version:

Which version's yours?

2) The shaking part, is what Faz described, either the rubber mounts on the baseplate needs to reinforced or replaced. And check the lock part from the baseplate and the box side, it could worn out.

IF your locking tab on the base plate is worn out like what Kev said, the nylon/plastic base plate needs to be replaced. If you're using the alloy/metal bas plate, you can just get the locking tab replaced. Be it the first version or second version of the Simply E450, its the same cos I've used both versions before.

Base plate can try Ah Boy. He might also have the alloy/metal one.
