Time 8am.

Est distance: 350~400km (GP to GP)

 

The PACE: Ride, stop, eat, repeat.

 

Est time back in Sg: 5pm. For those in a rush, you can peel off and head home earlier.

I know this is kinda last min, but anyone up for a day ride tomoro? So far myself & Melvin aka Inzaghi75 shld be up for it. Meeting time 7 am GP. Will be accompanying vfrT & his gang halfway up their trip to Frazer's (he'll be taking the long way round, possibly via Mersing). I'll be turning back once we reach lunch break, maybe around Air Papan (or further). It'll be free & easy, so everything goes. Call/sms if u're keen. Thks.

How far estimate is the distance? I know Mersing is abt 270km one way.

Actually me & t gang doing the Karak Loop. By day's end we will go up to Frasers to stay the night. Its an incredibly great twisties and great fun loop. Very doable for a day ride too. So if anyone is game, be at GP tmr 7am.

Sorry man, I'm down with a serious sore throat (dunno cold or flu). Not in the condition for a ride this weekend.

 

On the other hand, I'm quite interested in riding to Songkran / Phuket Bike Week (14-21 Apr 2013). I may not necessarily stay the entire week, but I'd like to be there for at least a couple of days to enjoy the events and celebrations. Since I've never ridden that far, I'll either follow the main Team 27 MC convoy, or ride with friends who've been there. Is there any other VFR rider intending to go?

This has got to be the most blah* VFR group on Sgbikes from ever since when. The originals goes for rides at least a few times a year up north and even organised track days at Sepang ..

 

Looks like at best, almost all are now desk-bound jockeys and ifs&but'ers ...

I still remember the "originals", especially the first red 6th gen to get the gorgeous Laser pipes. It was sensational! Somehow the group disappeared over the years and it's now a far cry from the early 2000's, and quite sad compared to US/UK groups like VFRD and VFRW.

 

It's quite unusual for exotic owners not to form an interest group. (Yes, VFR is quite exotic already. I think there are less than 100 VFRs on Singapore roads, all generations included.) For example, BMW and Harley groups are well-organised and host a lot of rides/activities. Perhaps we should do so, too. Personally I am game for short day trips or PG track sessions, and occasional longer trips planned well in advance.

Most Singaporean riders are very "value conscious". For a price they expect a certain level of performance, looks, street cred, etc. The $15K I paid for my used VFR would be ridiculous to many riders. They would probably spend the same money on a superbike or a adventure tourer, perhaps with money to spare for a cub.

 

For me, VFR800 VTEC was one of my two dream bikes (the other being GSXR1000K4 which I owned a few years back - dream fulfilled). Since I have the means to get it, why not?

 

I am thoroughly enjoying my semi-exotic sport-tourer now. The exhaust note confuses everybody. They expect to see a Ducati but see a Honda with big side boxes. Ha ha!

anw, i am back in sgp for a couple of days.. just renewed her COE too...

was a bright and sunny day... so, took her out for a spin, after 2months..

rode it long and hard on the AYE today.... shiok man

 

will be leaving again on wed, so it anyone wants to meet up for kopi on mon/tue, at bukit timah/holland area, drop me a PM or something...
