Any seniors know where to get sbs & Honda original brake pads?

Sbs can get at motorworld...as for the nissin brake pads can get at fjt...but not cheap..coz its sintered metal pads..(worth the money actually in terms of stopping power)..

Hi, i encountered screeching sound from my front brakes everytime i pull the levers to apply braking, i just change the brake pads about 1month plus ago. Is there any problem with my wheel bearing or is my front disc brakes have any problem? Is there any reputable workshops in the east SG where i can send my Spec3 to check on my brakes? Do advise.. Thanks..

Hi guys! I have a problem with my brakes. Got into an small accident ytd and my front totally don't work when on the move, when stationary the brakes will be back. Changed pump kit and left disc and managed to get my braking power back, but right now i'm encountering an issue with brake jerking, when i brake, i could feel my brake lever resisting in and out and the whole bike jerks like i'm riding a horse due to the uneven braking. Any idea what is the issue?

Probably ur right disc (i assume nv change) is warped. Maybe not due to the incident but arise because ur left disc nw smooth alr.

Hi thanks for the reply, i don't get it, you mean because i changed my left disc then cause my right to be warped? When i checked the discs before changing the left one, the right one is fine only the left one is warped. Oh another observation, after riding my left disc gets super hot, can't even leave my finger there for more than a second, my right one is not as hot.

The brake lever resisting in and out maybe caused by air pockets in your brake line. bleeding the brake line could end the problem

It could be that there is slight warping on the right disc as well, but we cannot seen by the naked eye.

this can also cause uneven braking, and might cause a squeaking sounds during braking.

If so, braking power is reduced, whether you noticed it or not.

for best performance, usually we change both discs as set, not separately (l learnt this the hard way)

If you left disc only is hot, it could be caused by brake binding.

gotta go to a motodiam to check that one out. very leceh to d.i.y, cos we got 4 independent "calipers" each our nissin brakes.

may even need to service the calipers.

Just my $0.02 cents

Rectified the issue with planet on sat, turns out that my left disc is warped, changed both disc now it's fine already. :)

Is it normal that my wheels are hard to turn after changing my discs? I'm having difficulties pushing my bike now and the discs gets quite hot after a ride.

Hi, kindly refer to my previous post.

It could be brake binding - your brake pads touching onto the discs even when brake lever not pressed.

Check your calipers?

Also, do your bearing need to be changed?

Hey gents, recently my front wheel have been producing "screeching" sounds when on the road. I'll assume thats the brake disc rubbing against the brake pads. Just now with the help of my friend, i tried to rotate the wheel but i wasnt able to. I needed strength to turn the wheel! So there is something not right here.. is it,

1) brake hose problem?

2) brake caliper problem?

3) brake disc problem?

4) none of the above.. any other root causes?

Hope to hear from you guys soooon so that my bike is problem free during raya~~

Definitely not bearing because i just changed a month ago. Will check out the calipers this weekend thanks. :)

Bro, have you checked your calipers? Was your problem rectified?

I reckon it could be due to brake binding.

may need to service the calipers. :(

also, please check your brake pads... whether "makan" until finish or not, cos if finish, left the metal part, can cause the "screeching sound" when braking. the heat produced can expand your calipers, causing them to "brake" constantly, thats why your wheel cannot spin freewheel. :nono:

the problem is, it can eat into your discs a bit... use you fingers to run on your across your disc from inwards of your rotor to outwards. if it feels there is a slight grooved feeling as oppose to smooth, then confirm your disc eaten up a bit...

bring to shop ASAP. I understand Hari Raya is less than a week away. good luck.

Just to check with you guys who are currently using steel braided brake hose. Does the hose joint burst after using it for a long time? Currently the stock rubber brake hose does expands when braking.
