Sorry! I'm quite new to biking and naturally wanna ask all the kind of weird and noob questions...

Hmm, dun mind wat the others say about your questions... I guess each of us do have certain things that are unfamiliar with... So by posting questions can either enhance our ideas or give us new ideas...

As for the 2B to 2A transition... It depends on which bikes you are currently riding, which bike you want to try riding and of course, what kind of bikes you wanna ride in future as well...

For me, I changed from Phantom TA200 (2B biggest CC) to SliverWing 400 (2A biggest CC) for few reasons

1) Cos I dun wanna waste any CC's for both bikes, so I chose the biggest.

2) I can prepare myself for bigger bikes to come, since I rode the biggest CC bikes.

3) I wanna try new types of bikes (Phantom - Criuser - Manual) (SilverWing - Scooter - Auto)

So if you have decided on the bikes that you wanna try, you can just go ahead and try it...

Anyway, if you are trying a hybrid kinda riding, just revert back to S4... Since its a bike that is used in driving centres... You should not have problems with the bike :cheeky:

Honda Silverwing - Jun 2008 to Jun 2009

"transition theory" is basically to help save $$ coz every time we change bike, we kinda lose $$. old bike drop in value (especially when sell to motortiam), financing costs for new/old bikes, transfer fees, loss in unused road tax, partial refund from insurance, gadgets/mods u have put into the old bike (unless you take out), etc... just to name a few

but if $$ is no issue, then no worries

apart from saving $$, a BIG consideration is your personal preference for make (brand) and type (e.g. cruisers, scooters, road bikes, naked bikes, fairings, etc). no point buying an economical bike but which you don't like coz you'ld probably end up changing it before you get your 2A.

e.g. some pp like phantom as it is a simple bike to maintain, lots of mod choices, heavier and more stable, etc. but there are also those who kinda hated it and preferred more agile bikes like bajaj pulsar, honda wave or sp that can easily weave through traffic than the "fat ass" phantom. also, some riders prefer italian bikes but for myself... honda :thumb:
