Hi,

I would like to know the various fuel prices at the various petrol kiosk...

Normally which type of patrol would you guys top up on a bike? Say a CBR125? and is there any discounts given if u are a member of the kiosk company or something like that?

I would also like to know how much is the road tax for a Motorcycle, is it yearly or 6 monthly?

Thanks!

best place to get petrol price = petrol kiosk

fuel prices online = http://www.petrolwatch.com.sg/

-> there ain't much choices actually... up or down, motorists still have to Pay And Pay

most kiosks sells petrol with a discount, and with additional discounts if you have designated cards... e.g. esso gives 5% discount for petrol, you'll get another 5% if using DBS esso mastercard to pay, so total 10% discount :thumb:

i used to get staff discount while working at caltex many years ago, wonder if they're still entitled to such privileges

which petrol company/octane level depends on individual preference. most powerful seems to be shell VPower (most expensive too) but i chose esso/mobil because of convenience. there's a kiosk within sight from my house :p furthermore, speedpass is a big plus... no need to queue inside station to make payment; just pump, take receipt and ride off. especially useful when raining coz don't need to walk around in the dripping wet rain suit :thumb:

Estimate road tax payable? check this out:

alternatively, just take a look at road tax disc of any 125cc bike

Err... Shell also have something like Speedpass kinda stuff... Its called Shell Card... The minus point is that you have to apply for it... Sort of capped to a certain amount that you can use for the month... Like a credit card, pay at the end of the month kinda thing... And you can use it to make other purchases in the Shell Station as well... :p

You can gain points from topping up petrol, then use it to exchange for items... Like SMILES points from Esso... (By the way Scooby bro, can Speedpass accumulate points?)

The card also calculates the discount at the end of the month

for most bikes ..use 95 octane...

some like me uses 92..

but the price difference is only 2 cents/L between them..so will chnage back to 95 at the next top up..

dont need tp spend on the most expensive grade...sometimes/most often

fuel comsumption will be higher for those top grade..IMHO

Never argue with an idiot. They'll bring you down to their level and beat you with experience every time:dot:

yalor...agree..i also downgrade for my car liao...used to pump 98...no 95..pocket burning a big hole soon.anyway not a high end car like ferarri or ...no need so good grade....

so long as octane level same, shell or esso no diff to me and i'm using only synergy 5000, good enough

i'm also a shell card holder but its not as convenient as the small little RFID tag attached with my bike key... no need to dig out from pocket  very convenient especially when wearing rain pants :thumb:

most importantly, the nearest shell to my home is 6x the distance to esso :cheeky:

before i say anything further...

nope, i don't work for exxon mobil nor do i have any interests with the speedpass thingy

my opinion is... this is good stuff especially for bikers who wear so much more gears than car drivers, especially when raining. imagine having a wet helmet on my head, waggle over to queue up in dripping wet rain suit, and digging inside rain pants for wallet to make payment... what a hassle :slapforehead: now... no more :thumb:

hmmm... maybe i should contact speedpass and see if i can get paid for promoting their product http://smileys.on-my-web.com/repository/Laughing/hahaha-024.gif

check this out... all your answers are listed

http://www.petrolwatch.com.sg/priceguru.htm

generally, most bikers fall inside $50-$300 group for SPC... highest discount 10.7% with POSB everyday credit card. but seems like not many bikers pump SPC?

next highest is 10% discount from Caltex & Esso... also need credit card

Shell's highest is 9.75% but... wah piang! need dividend PLATINUM card

hahahaha. ya actually good idea. its also like not nice to go que up there with all the wet suit.

Erm, I think Shell one also have Pay at Pump (PAP???) system where you just insert the card at the pump and pump from there then ride off... Need pin number... My opinion, safer than Speedpass becos of the PIN :p

but it needs a credit card, and i dont have one. sian.

oh ya hor..neither do i..awh..wasted la liddat..but credit card..heehs..wait long2 want to sign up for one..

Maybe you wanna check if they accept debit cards for the application?

So the credit card one for shell... How is it?

For cars, I know need to pump, then pay at cashier, for motorcyclist?

Any one tried SPC?

Erm, Most Shells do not require drivers to go till the cashier if the pump has the Pay at Pump machine... Just slot the card, PIN the number, Pump the petrol and move off~ The Shell card is like a credit card that bills to you every month, but you need to have a minimun income of $24000 a year, making it about $2000 a month... o_O

Oh ya, SPC need you to go in... They haven't started any systems for pump with ease yet... I think same goes for Caltax... :)
