If we are riding in middle of 2 lanes and a vehicle is trying to swerve in at atleast we can slow down and no one will hit from behind or you can speed up and you wont hit anyone in front. The biggest risk while riding is hitting the back of a vehicle or getting hit from the back, that risk is reduced if you ride in the middle of 2 lanes, thats why all the expert JB riders ride in b/w lanes

Another problem with riding in the middle of a lane is that lane 2 is too slow for bikes and lane 1 is usually too fast as there will be the odd wannabe F1 drivers on lane 1. So middle of Lane 1 and Lane 2 is the perfect place to ride.

yeah bro i agree with you

Both with valid points.

However, not to get into any debate:

1. TP requires us to ride in the middle of the lane and not lane split

2. Last week alone I saw 2 "J" plate accidents along BKE/PIE

Experts or not, I think its just wise to ride safe and always keep a watch out for other cars.

if it is more dangerous then the driving centres will not ask you to ride in the middle of the lanes already...

it is actually more visible riding in the middle of a lane than to lane splitting...

yes drivers tend to not check blind spot when they change lane...that is where your surrounding awareness comes in...you need to be fully aware of your ENTIRE surrounding ALL the time...

have to anticipate and predict happenings in your surrounding...

if you are lane splitting, there is actually less space for you to move when the vehicles decide to just swerve in...

couldn't agree more. ever seen jb bikes riding in the midd of 2 lane all the time. if they feel safe there, i dont, u have to constantly keep a lookout for ur left n right. then if some idiot drive close, u might be knock down n he run scot free. so if a choice of getting hit, i rather ppl hit direct from behind (not that i want, sometimes can't avoid). just keep left, remember we riding bikes, we can squeeze ppl, but dont let ppl squeeze us.

Accident can happen anytime, anywhere.

However ask yourself, do you want to fall at 120km/h or 60km/h?

valid points also...

seen also a lot of cars love to close the gaps between the 2 lanes...

especially heavy vehicles...

bottom line is ride safe out there...

dont totally agree with revhappy, u lane split, u got to watch out from both side, while if u keep left, only watch ur right. those jb lane splitters happily ride there, they dont bother to check.

heavy vehicles lane split for a reason, they r big. this is esp true when they do turns, they tend to take 2 turning lane, this is to prevent cars from squeezing in n get hit cos of their turning radius. we bikes will get chance there, the big vehicle clear the lane n providing us 1/2 lane. thus i said, we can squeeze ppl, dont let ppl squeeze us. imo, keep left n in the mid of lane is safest, as taught by driving school.

another dangerous point on lane split; what if a vehicle driving like snake in a lane? can u predict which way he's going? if u ride in the middle, what if he swerve ur way.

Accident can happen anytime, anywhere.

This should be our motto - "We can squeeze people, but don't let people squeeze us."

Man, I agree that it is sometime necessary to split lanes and frustrating not to, but there is no way it is safer. It is definitely safer to ride in the middle of A lane, whichever lane it might be.

Hi guys, do any bro have any recommendation to introduce any workshop to replace the dry cell battery? I went down UM for the past 2 saturdays but they had no stock. So decided to change it somewhere. Anyone change their battery elsewhere?
