oh i left home around 7.10.. its was pouring cats n dogs! i cant believe i arrived at my work place 95% dry! (the 5% is my feet lol) arai jacket n pants helped alot! $65 is not too much for a armor less rain protection i guess... haha

One reason I didn't ride to office was to avoid getting wet as the pant of my raincoat seems to be gone as heavy rain, my groin area gets wet.

Second reason is visibility, see how dark it is outside. When rain droplets accumulate on my helmet visor it really becomes tough to see especially when its dark. Quite dangerous. Yesterday when it was raining and I was taking a left turn and I almost hit a pedestrian who was crossing the road. Thanks God. I braked in time.

yes true! visibility is a problem... especially early in the morning.. cuz the sun rises at around 7.15am but if u notice street lights and block lights are switched off around 7.00 am... u get some proper lighting only after around 7.20-7.30 am

hmm.. when i did a check last night it was right on the 'low' line.. so did a top up n made it center of 'low' n 'high' marking.. no oil traces found below the engine.. i usually make sure to check beneath the bike for any signs oil drip..

hmm...

did you

put bike on main stand?

park on a relatively flat ground with?

front wheel touching the ground?

check after waiting for the engine to cool down?(min 20-30min after you stop your bike)

these are some factors that affect the EO level when you check...

Early morning while pouring, put on my arai raincoat and off to work, but i couldn't start my bike.

Electric start can't kick also can't... Is it cause of the weather or my battery dying or what?

Finally after a while I press and throttle at the same time come to life a bit..

Accident can happen anytime, anywhere.

However ask yourself, do you want to fall at 120km/h or 60km/h?

must got to idac 1st or make police report 1st?

btw what is IDAC?? lolol.. sorry for the noob question.. better to have info at hand just in case :)

IDAC - Independent Damage Assessment Centres

24-hour Hotline: 6788 6616

Visit http://www.income.coop/claims/motor/idac.asp for CENTRES

From 1 August 2002, if you meet with a motor accident and wish to make a claim, you should send your car to an Idac within 24 hours of the accident, before you send your car to the workshop.

The IDAC will certify the extent of the damage and photograph the damage. It does not assess the repair cost. You can also make the accident report at the IDAC.

All Idacs are opened 24 hours to receive accident vehicles. However for making an accident report and/or damage assessment, please take note of the respective IDACs' operating hours. You would like to call them before making the trip down.

if u have no damage n not claiming the other party, not necessary to go idac. but just check throughly, any fine scratch anywhere, even helmet, can just claim. is true tp will not involve if there's no injury, they just make record. so i think in ur case, it's up to insurance how they want to fight it. call up ur insur, tell them NOT UR FAULT N DON'T PAY THEIR CLAIM.

arthur.. which part is the engine block?

do u sniff some problem?

i got flu how to sniff, lol

there's only 2 part i know of leaking eo.

1) the engine block; the metal block under ur tank which have lots of fins n look like a heat sink. look carefully at the sealing part at the top, it's either at the round rubber thing at the side (near ur spark plug) or at the exhaust pipe exit.

2) near front spocket, ther's 2 o ring. if it's leaking from there cos of o ring, it'll usually drip to the bottom, u'll need to open up the metal case to see the o ring.

3) uncommon, but possible; ur drain nut is not tighten properly

In my case there used to be a very fine leak from the drain bolt, eo will not drip or anything because its very very slow, but if I touch the bolt I can feel the EO on my finger tips. I have changed the bolt and washer so now no problems.

Another reason could be oil just burning and evaporating due to the high temperature. I have read in Indian forums that pulsar is known to burn oil. Some people after draining out the EO see only 900 ml left. Even the Phantom is known to burn oil and they just top up in b/w thats perfectly normal.

when was your last EO change?

did you notice any oil residue at your enging, side stand, main stand, below your engine area?

what you can do is wash your engine area clean and put your bike on side stand with a piece or newspaper/rough paper on the floor...

check it the next day to see if there is any stains on the paper...

if it is from your EO drain bolt, can use a T wrench to tighten it...
