Ques: when ur clutch cable suddenly feel tigher something like Class 2 clutch, do it mean it going to snap soon?

i try spray abit of WD40 already

Bro, try using machine oil , like Singer brand for sewing machine. It works better thanWD40 coz they tend to dry up after few days. Or got more $ use silicone lube or even titanium grease.

Ride slow slow. Getting old already..................

110/90 R17 is actually upsize from the stock 100/90 R17 so in theory your RPM should have been 8k@110 kmph with 15/40 sprocket ratio

Check out this site:

http://www.gearingcommander.com/

You can select Bajaj Pulsar 180 and enter the figures for tire size and sprocket and see the RPM/speed.

In my case my rear tyre is 100/80 R17 and sprockets is 15/38 and my speed at 8k RPM is correctly 110 kms/hr as shown in the website.

Both my front & rear tyre size is 80/90 & current sprockets is 14/38. Rpm 7k = 105km/h. Different tyre size does effect your speed & rpm.

105@7k RPM is awesome :thumb:. If the front tyre size is changed then you will get speedo error. Smaller front tyre will show higher than the real speed and larger front tyre will show lower than the real speed.

I just called up to renew my insurance at NTUC. I wanted to take a 6 month insurance only, inorder to sync it up with my road tax expiry and inspection dates. But, bloody hell, they are saying they dont do 6 months, only 1 year. I need to shell out 187$ now for 1 yr insurance+ road tax 32$.

Does anybody use any other insurance company that is cheaper than NTUC and does 6 months insurance? Anyways all are closed today, I will need to call each of them on monday.:(

If you are under 36yrs, I think AXA is cheaper.

However, unless you go to an agent, you won't be able to buy any insurance today.

Only one that is open even on Sundays is NTUC.

Help!!! Second day of my pulsar and the engine oil is leaking! When left there for awhile, will have a small puddle of oil below the engine. A mech told me the engine thread or something wearing out, maybe need overhaul. Anyone can help?

See if you can locate the point of leak. It it is from the top then the engine fins should be wet with EO. If it is from the engine oil drain bolt then feel the bottom of the drain bolt, you should be able to see EO dripping. It could also be due to side cover not sealed properly.

No need to overhaul, just make sure you keep topping up the EO until the problem is fixed. And yes take it to UM only. Other bike shops wont have the gasket etc. They will need to procure it from UM itself and will cost more in both time and money.

@oren i was riding sp before the pulsar. And yes I'm a p plater. For my sp I used to cruise around 140. That's why I feel a bit under powered. I'm not a racer btw, i usually travel at very late timings like now. That's why ride harder cause no cars.

Oh then Pulsar is definitely not the bike for you, bro. In class 2B not too many 4 stroke bikes that have max speed of 140. Forget about cruising at that speed. I guess only Yamaha R15, Yamaha FZ150I or Honda CBR150 can manage that speed if you max out the throttle and do some mods as all the 3 bikes have a compression ratio of 10.5-11:1. Bajaj Pulsar, Honda Tiger 200 and Yamaha FZ16 have lower compression ratio of 9-9.5:1 so they are not as powerful but more fuel efficient.

Thanks bro. I will call up AXA on monday. I tried getting AXA last year but they refused to give me as they dont give it to foreigners who have not completed 1 year in Singapore. But this year I will qualify. :)

ahh im jus back from UM! the mech suspect it might be gasket or something. but at a low chance. he changed my bolts for me around the engine there. he said he was 90% sure it was the bolt. however if there is still leak, might need to tear the engine to fix it.. he ask me prepare 200 for labour (excluding gasket) if i see a leak.. yeah.. the fuel is pretty sick compared to my sp. i used to top up 2 days 1 time. now its like super money saving after i got the pulsar. the fuel meter doesnt seem to move much. haha. i travelled 100 already and the fuel is still at the F there. 2 days 1 time? :faint: If you do full tank for Pulsar, then the fuel meter wont move untill like 300 kms. lol.

After that the movement will start and after about 500kms it will come to half and after about 700 kms it will come closer to the red reserve mark. :cheeky:

Many of us top up our fuel in JB and it last us easily 2-3 weeks. So your savings will be even more :)

i try spray abit of WD40 already

u're mad spraying wd40, it'll eat up the lube, making more tighter.

try EO, it works wonders for lube, or try the chain lube u got from SBF anniv. if u really want to change, i let go my clutch cable.

Accident can happen anytime, anywhere.

However ask yourself, do you want to fall at 120km/h or 60km/h?
