I think even for me if i move out I wouldn't have updated LTA. It's not a foreigner's bad luck. It's just plain unlucky.

 

for us locals..no matter wad we need to update ICA or cn go to police station to update our address. dat is because if we dun update, our IRAS n Reservist letters wun reach our doorstep. Hence, dats e least for us to do.

 

You did notice its a flat Allen key bolt and not a screw protruding out? Can ask them to put some silicon over the bolt to add some waterproof-ness and protect against scratches.

Not that I recall, I'll go through whatever letters I kept to see. But I usually never keep paper I don't need to keep so..

 

What I don't understand is how come they waited until 8 months later to try and find me? Do people usually never answer notifications and letters in SG that they wouldn't have a system at LTA to contact someone some other way ?

 

I ran through all the government bodies to check, and from MOM to taxes, every single one has my new address. Except LTA. Not to mention the obvious SP Services and Starhub/Singtel. And you're gonna tell me that no one thought of doing a simple research before 8 months?

 

Anyway, I only have myself to blame.

 

I didn't know I was in a country where when I buy a vehicle I have to make sure to tell the ministry of transport where I will move next. As if the police knowing where I lived wasn't enough. Now that I think of it, I can't imagine how charging someone with a traffic offense can work if you can't even pull the latest address attached to the driver's license...

Presence of mind....Never panic..

 

In a shop a man asked for 1/2 kg of butter.

 

The salesperson, a young boy, said that only 1kg packs were available in the shop, but the man insisted on buying only 1/2 kg.

 

So the boy went inside to the manager's room and said "An idiot outside wants to buy only 1/2 kg of butter".

 

To his surprise, the customer was standing behind him..

 

So the boy added immediately, "And this gentleman wants to buy the other half!!!!!!".

 

After the customer left, the Manager said "You have saved your position by being clever enough at the right time. Where do you come from?"

 

To this the boy said, "I come from Brazil. The place consists of only prostitutes and football players!!!!! "

 

The manager replied coldly, "My wife is also from Brazil".

 

To this the boy asked excitedly, "Oh yeah? Which team does she play for?"

@Charlton, thanks for the help. Didn't go to the Police station to update my address when I moved, that's only valid for SG and PR citizens. For foreigners, because our stay is linked to the pass we have, it's the MOM we have to inform. So Speed I think if you update your address at the Police station when you move, they will tell LTA.

 

Edit: it's confirmed, read it on LTA site.

 

For foreigners, we have to send the form Rev linked to.

Also I think if I had access to OneMotoring account I could've updated my address. But I never manged to gain access, it doesn't work with Firefox or Safari, I'm using a Mac and never managed to get access. My Singpass works fine for everything else but on OneMotoring website I don't know what kind of scripts they have, once identified it doesn't take me to the right page.

 

Edit 2: LTA site explains that to gain access to one motoring, foreigners must go personally to LTA's office to get a username/pass and provide necessary ducoments. Their Singpass won't work. So word of advice to fellow foreigner riders: get your OneMotoring access, it will save you tons of trouble!

 

I went and read up LTA's website an in the FAQs it is clearly indicated that "other vehicle owners should inform LTA if there are any changes to their registered address" as opposed to SG/PR owners and ACRA businesses for whom it is centralised.

Pulsar value seems to be appreciating. SG bikemart has 3 UG2 pulsars all priced above 2.6k! I knew this will happen, with Phantoms getting scrapped, there are no other decent options in 2B that are priced under 3K. The pulsars had to appreciate! Dont sell your pulsars guys! hold them.
