wats OTR? paid 3.8k, COE till jan 2018.

BTW, anyone knows about the fuel (main/reserve) switch?? keep forgetting if up is main or reserved >

OTR = On The Road = Machine price + Road Tax + COE + Insurance + Transfer Fee + License Plate + IU

Fuel tap pointing down = ON, pointing up = RESERVE. In doubt, stop and look at it: it's written on it :)

My first calculated full tank. Travelled 520km, left with 1 bar. Didnt know how far more can tracel...so decided to jus top up. Filled 15ltrs. Which means my fc is a poor 33km/l :-(

N i hv not even ridden the bike more than 90km/hr. Lets see if can improve.

Anyway...today my idling timing went up. Normally its abt 1.5 rpm. But today went up to 2rpm. Anyone has any idea y this hapen?

Speed is not the only thing that impacts FC. Slow speed can mean lots of stop-and-go (traffic) hence you use more fuel. Riding style matters: if you like to pick up from idling position (take offo from red light) fast, accelerate fast, that'll call for a lower FC as well.

Age of the bike, and what previous owners have done to it like Mobilenerd said is also a key factor.

Pulsar bikes have an amazing FC, but if the owners before you treated the bike like ****, the bike will deliver according to the maintenance it received..

Next servicing, tell the UM mech you wanna look into improving the FC, he will check for a few things and give you suggestions on what you can do.

Best way to answer this is to join a meet-up: We can all write an essay on FC, not just me ;)

And here's a video tutorial on how to tune your idle speed:

@O'Ren: OTR normally don't include insurance...cause the insurance is different for every person...so if a shop puts OTR, it means all in except insurance...

Thanks For the vid. I have been looking for a vid that tells us how to tune our idling rpm.

I am riding a 180dsti UG2. Does our spark plug play any part in our efficient FC? How to know when we need to change the spark plug?

Hi All,

i'm looking to get a pulsar for dispatch purpose.

I need to fit 2 side boxes and at least a 45 litres backbox.

Any difference between pulsar 180 dtsi and 200 dtsi ?

Is pulsar reliable enough for dispatch purpose ?

p.s : I don't throttle like a mad man, smooth throttling and i never go above 90km/h

Not much difference. Both are fine for despatch.

usually from my known experiences the insurance premium quoted by the bikeshop is more expensive than the one u called to get a quotation and this is where they make a bit more money off u :sian:

maybe adjust your idling a down a little alittle 1st and observe...

idling should be ard 1.4k +/- 100...

please adjust after you warm up the bike and not when its cold...

cold start rpm ard 1.1k - 1.2k should be ok...

might be also cause by your throttle cable stuck/pulled...
