UG3 i can say proudly i was the first pulsarian with hazard light cos i found out the secret on where to tap the source from.

UG1 and UG2 wiring for hazard lights are just the same to other bikes on the rd.

UG1,2 and UG3 the diff is UG3 is electronic. u cant just tap anyhow.

 

ug2 n 3 i heard from UM is b cos the condenser is wired inside the box (dont know what it's called), so if want to tap from the condenser to have hazzard, need to know some electoric stuff n solder.

 

not sure if ug2 no need relay, but that time the few of us did the hazzard, wasnt the other 2 bikes ug2? viewpanel?

@Nemesis, i think ug1/2 can start with low volt is cos they dont have to power some additional electonic stuff, so it only need to power the starter only. i'm guessing 4 ug3 the additional box that need to power up together with starter is under the headlight. so if take that 1 out maybe can start, but i dont know if got other complications...

 

UG1 and 2 do not need relay for hazard light. As their bike got their own relay. :lol:

ug3 also got their own relay, only it's fused together with some electronic stuff, not easy to tap out. the easiest is get another relay.

i need help :D

 

backside itchy bought a pair of new led signal lights.. now it blinks very fast.. anyone know what i should do? add new relay? buy from simlim tower? which relay to use? anyone mind helping me install? :D

 

ur original was not led rite?

 

if ur original is bulb n u change to led, u need to add in a relay to sync the timing. i read that quite some time back. someone did change to led n had the same problem as urs. i got relay, if u want can meet sometime n test it out. but i also dont know how to fix, maybe as some experts out or trial n error. :p

 

 

OT, i think ur backside ichy is cos someone put iching powder on ur seat. :p

I am meeting cookie this weekend to fixed up my new filter n coil... If u want we can go simlim together to search for ur switch n casing then we go fix together...

i went SL tower search already, the smallest box i found does not fit the small switch i have in mind, need some work to custom make.

the purpose for DIY is so that pple who are not as confident to open their bikes can do it at the lowest cost, with the least risk of shorting their bike system.

u wan to noe where the condenser relay for UG3 is i can tell u but by telling u do u wan to risk tapping from there? or will others risk shorting the condenser or the box components and pay for a new one or rather add an additional relay?

We have to balance the need to add or modify.

I can even tell the pple in here how to avoid the PowerCut in Ug3 and P200 by modifying the CDI and soldering a resistor of another value inside because i have open it up before...

Who wants to try ??? - but soldering and changing the resistor value at ur own risk :)

 

in all, dun forget the motive and purpose for DIY. it is to let those not very technically confident, touch n better understand their bikes at a low cost and safe way.

Eh for those who have boxes, how much did you gets fix it for? Worksmanship + frame + box?

 

UM quoted $180 for full set (46l box) not sure about brand. I don't think UM will really chop people but just asking in case.

UM quoted me that price also for my box and rack when i bought my bike they have a few colours that will match our bike's colours

comes with the pillion back rest cushion which i think is abit too hard(and the stupid holding screws that scratched my spare helmet and my gf's helmet)

gf also complain abit the cushion abit hard

 

yea that's the price they gave me. *can cut till 160 though cos i bought together with bike hehe* its zeus btw

no warranty trust me don't change lol i tt time under warranty need to change 4 times then it worked lol. i think its abt 50+- for it ^^

 

i also want to change since i still under warr :lol:

actually how to tell them when go down UM?

just say the fuel indicator not accurate want to change?

 

btw anyone knows what is the bulb that is used for out pilot lights?

just realised one of my pilot lights has blown when i saw the reflection from the car in front.

thinking of changing the other 2 bulbs also cos they seem abit dim liao

even if u gave me the whole electronic map of the cdi, while i'm not confident, i'll still consult experts. say i diy myself n my whole bike got burnt, i still wont blame u guys, it's i who took the risk. ;)

Fyi, Honda Phamton also has got no fuel gauge... Purely using mileage to judge.... soon u will get used to it...

 

Pulsar is good because it has a trip meter.... Anyway fuel gauge is often so inaccurate... Note that all bikes fuel tank are not build in a rectangle shape.. it is often narrow at the bottom and wide at the top.... so even u have a perfect fuel meter.... I presume that within 3 months u would rather use ur trip meter to ur advantage... cos that is usually more accurate....

 

Also, as pulsar is still using "carbretor" and not fuel injection system... the benefit to us is that at least we still have a reserve lever... that could last u a really really long distant before u go find a petrol station...

 

for me i always rely on the fuel meter. it's only when it reach red line i start to plan, else i wont worry a bit. found that my meter will drop when it's 1/2 tank, so that's a guage 4 me. as for the odometer, dont even bother, it's 4 me to guage my fuel consumption, or judge distance btw point A to B.

Hey I can see you have side boxes installed, what model is it? Can you please up some pictures of them? Anyone else here got side boxes on their Pulsar? Why did you choose sideboxes, isn't the rear top box enough?

Place not confirm .should be ard 11pm.

Thanks to bro Nemesis.. my problem with my bike solved.. he came down all the way to near my place to help me out even while it was raining heavily.. kudos to that.. really appreciate it..

 

as for the problem, the fuse was blown and it was due to the box brake wire that was short (probably quite loose), once that wire was disconnected, problem solved.. apparently, this thing happens with box brake wires if nv fix properly.. battery no problem..

 

and guys, voltmeter is really helpful in troubleshooting.. when i kena problem, then i realise..:cool:

i have sideboxes too

cos top box just enuff for 2 helmets(my and my gf's)

sideboxes for the rest of my barang barang (raincoat x 2 set, bike cover, paking coupons, rags etc. and sometimes can put more stuff in if need to bring quite a number of things out
