oh ya..i juz remembered i gt a story. ytd i went to autobay kaki bukit to check out e motoshops der for a cl2 bike. when i was at e 1st shop, the salesman asked me wad bike am i currently ridin. i told him im ridin a p200. he was shocked n told me dat i shud sell it away quickly. he had customers, sum indian, who bought a pulsar and scrapped it off coz the myth(mileage 800km) was juz a myth. dey cud nt even reach 500km. i told him i could easily get 600+ even wif whackin along tpe. so left me wonderin whether i shud sell my p200 b4 it becomes worthless..hmmmmm

Bro, you should understand these are all tactics of bikeshops to take in your bike for cheap and then sell it high. He knew you are about to sell your bike, so he is trying to be smart.

Dont worry Pulsar got a good resale now and most of the classifieds have pulsar sales at 2500$++ for UG2. Our SBT community is really instrumental in making the pulsar well known and that really helps to preserve the value of our bikes

+1 with revahppy here. Is that bikeshop guy serious... People can be so dishonest and make a business out of it.. What myth.. I filled my tank in JB last time we went to Mersing yeah? Clocked 420km on that trip, and 190km since so that's 610km yeah ? Well, the bike has still not reached the reserve. And mind you, on that trip and after, I've been doing some 90-105km/h and some very slow speeds (50km/h). So please, don't listen to people who don't know what they are saying.

 

It's like when riders with super big bikes tell me "you going for class A?" "yeah some day.." "so you're gonna sell this and get what bike?" "I'm keeping this one." "why ? it's not good, it's better to get at least 400cc".

Excuse me, are you like the Wikipedia of bikes, you have an article on everything therefore you can tell me my bike is crap - do you even know anything about the bike ? People assume only. They assume it's Pulsar so unknown brand so must be lousy. Then you tell them, hey did you know Bajaj was the second shareholder at KTM ? And will probably buy KTM off in a few years ? Then they blink at you..

 

Alfa, change or sell your bike because you want to or because you need to. Not because some stranger tells you something about it

No bike will give you the mileage the Pulsar will give you and that's a fact. No bike will require such low maintenance if you take care of it, and that's a fact.

i felted a very tight bond with my pulsar cos ive been thru thick n thin with it and seen wat other countries do with the bike which realy open my eyes and heart. i duno wat the salesman is thinking. i dun realy care wat other think or any advertisement put, sure, this bike has some issues, every bike does, however we need to open our minds and c wat other people do with their pulsars in other countries. am i bragging? of cos i am. huhuhuhu... :cool:

okok..relax ppl... i was juz sharin a story. in fact, e reasons y i haven give up on pulsar for a cl2 bike earlier is becoz of e mileage and low maintenance. everytime i see a bigger bike i go gaga over it, bt i noe my pupu is much more trustworthy and reliable(neva broken down b4,neva fail on me even in e mornin at 6am). even if the bikeshop said all dat to manipulate me and take it off for a lower price, dey dun even have a big bike. mebbe juz an s4, so have no idea y dey wud say dat. i went to UM to test market check e price of a p200 fbb plate and was quoted abt $4k+. from there i could gauge roughly hw much i could fetch mine for. if i were to let it go, it will be let go wif a damn heavy heart. bt i would probably let it go to a fellow forumer than a bikeshop. enjoy ur wkends ppl..ride safe and be happy

from my sales aside, generally most bike shops sell pulsar. i saw a fbd p200 at bt merah blue colour $4k-ish. reali depends on ur budget

 

btw, welcome to SBT! u will not be disappointed by e p200 if u r lookin for economical and hassle-free ride. if u r a lacer, i dun tink pulsar is for u

My budget is between 2.5 to 3k, i am not sure what is the best budget for P200. Thought this forum is the best place to find out. I am looking for an economical low maintainance bike. My need is to travel only b/w office to home, max 20km a day.
