Hi tailo, taikor, riders, abangs and annes...

Need some help with sorting out a choice of bikes... I am looking out for a second-hand bike, but just can't get to a decision. :faint:

I was hoping that someone can point me in the a direction (because I'm going in circles now).

CB1300, MT-01, Fazer, or Monster 9. Maybe you guys can recommend some other bikes. As a Malaysian would say "sudah pening!"

I have been looking around the shops and all shops have different stories to tell.

I'm kinda leaning towards the MT-01, but there are so few in town, not sure if I will ever see a bike on sale.:dot:

Been to alot of shops and have met private sellers as well. Still can't decide on what to get.:dozed:

Another question I have, is there a very significant difference in the carb. and injection versions of the CB1300?o_O

Thank you thank you

firstly you have to look at what sort of a rider you r and than fgure the bikes out....put your self in this category......

1)Street...just an ordinary home to work rider...

2)tourer...long ass eating trips....

3)track...racing

4)all of the above...

bikes you have to consider your consumption and all these are categories to judge your effiency...

mt 01 is like a street bike design of a cruiser...long distance savvy...

cb13 is tourer and street savvy but power and FC may vary in many ways

fazer is tri purpose bike which its design is very track savvy...

monster9...i dont really recomend italian bikes in singapore coz parts are expensive....

Simple...just for see yourself in these categories and you know what to get...if not my words are just a waste of your time...

Hey xjrIzzac23!

Thanks for the direction! I'm more of the daily rider and the occasional ride back to Malaysia (KL) for the weekend type: hence the MT-01 and CB1300 being on top of my list.

Any other bikes worth considering? I am 6'4"... lots of racing bikes look like pocket rockets under me...

I'm pretty much taking out the Monster (would not want to pay through my "bung-hole" for parts" and Fazer (the riding stance is a little short for my liking) from the competition list. :dozed:

What's the going rate for a brand new/second hand CB1300? Been to a shop at the Alexandra Ind. Park, the guy was asking for 17K for an injection '05 model. Is that about right?

Oh and yeah! BIG UPS to Singapore Bikes.com. Massively immense pool of talent and information!:cheeky: :thumb:

What's your budget? If the answer is none, then it would expand the choices.

For a person of your height, yes, a sportstourer like the Fazer or a FJR would be ideal. Are you an inline or V-engine person? If inline, then the Fazer is pretty hard to beat. Get the 1000 if you are used to power, or the 600 otherwise.

For your height, a BMW GS is also within reach (pun intended :)). Take off the panniers for commuting, put it on for heading across the causeway. Alternatively an RT.

Can also consider a maxi scooter like the T-Max. Great commuter with enough grunt for the highway.

Most important of all ... you must like the bike :)

Cheers

Hey coolcat!

Thanks for the info! Much much appreciated.

However, the decision has been made, the downpayment has been paid and I'm just patiently (although almost going insane) waiting for the handover of an MT-01!!

:cheeky:

I can't wait to go on my "maiden voyage"!!

Ride safe, and have fun. The two can co-exist together. Try to throw in a track day to get to know your Silver better :)
