I am afraid this is something everyone have to go thru with a second hand motorbike. It’s just a matter of luck whether you have more or less items to replace.

Cheers!

Hey dude, when i just got my shadow 400, i changed most of the expandable parts, like the drum brake pad, front brake pad etc... it makes me feel more in control of how long the parts can last and also makes me feel safer while riding on the road knowing that these parts are new.

When you buy a second hand bike, the owner will say they change this, change that, you can take the previous owner's word for it, but how safe is that? hahaha... Pay abit more for a safety ride is alway worthy...

Especially we are talking about brakes....very very impt part of the bike...imagine you cannot brake in time due to faulty brakes, or worn out brake pads............the consequence is.........ack.......can you handle it? hehee.....:giddy:

I rather not be in that situation......:help:

Shadow 400 here. Recently went for servicing and found out that my spocket is worn out. A whole new set will cost me $280. Need help from Bros here for second opinion. Does the spocket contribut to my poor pick up recently? It require me to clutch in to boost up the speed even in gear 1. Help Help!! :help:

A whole new set of the front and rear for $280.00 sure sound expensive that is unless chain is include in the process of replacement as well. I am curious, clutch in to boost up the speed? In fact, a poor pick up rate could be a result of many factors (e.g. spark plugs, clutch plates, clutch spring, drive chain, tire pressure etc.) and I am just listing a few of the minor possibilities. How about getting another mechanic to find out the exact cause of your concern?

I just changed the both sprocket inclusive chain (O-Ring gold color) for $235 in Mah Motorparts. if using X-Ring, it costs $250. btw my bike is slasher though. I suppose should be the same.

Hey BROS, just change my chain spocket etc for $230 at Planet Motor. They come in X-ring but what is the difference between O-ring and x-ring? haha. Anyway change my rear brake pad as well for $40. Cheers.

I think its a good practice not to post any pricing for the items you get from bike shop as it might cause some unforeseen problem, maybe just put "PM me for price" or something like that will be good...:thumb:

Planet is located @ Kampong Ubi Industrial Estate, blk 3007 MAP

Planet motors is a good motortiam, you can read about it in the "why pay more" thread, i do all my servicing there too....
