Singapore Road Condition - Caution For Bikers

I have a story on my own.Personal encounter.Though didn't feel intimidated at that 1-2 min, but it really send shivers down my spine when i heard of some other encounters by friend's friend:

 

Back in 1997-98, i have a group of friends whom all became scrambler enthusiasts when we got our licences.We meetup every weekend evening for some off-track action rain or dry.There's one 'hidden' track somewhere in the west(forgot where is it.),we named it 'BKE' since it's somewhere just below it.

Though most of us stayed in the north,but i'm the only one using the lornie road exit. One day, after our adventure, i return home using the same exit again.However, this time it gives me a strong eerie feeling:

As i exit the BKE,into the filter lane, suddenly the dark clear road in front of me changed to a hazy road with dragonflies just after a turn.

I was thinking:Oh sh**! It's the first night of 7th month and recalled that there's a cementry here...

Immediately after the turn, the sight in front makes my hair stood on their very end: I'm the only motorist on this road.. Tried to slow down but still no vehicles on sight in my rear mirror. So speed up abit so as to get the **** out of here!

Just a few secs later, my entrusted bike starts to 'choke'. Engine starts dying off.

Used the 'throw-clutch" method to keep my bike alive.This goes on for 2-3 times before it finally maintain its heartbeat.

Guess what! The location where my bike came back alive is just right after the cementry(where the split of side road and flyover is). The road became clear with no dragonflies around… My ‘buddy’ works perfectly back to normal.While riding back, I still didn’t know what is the actual reason behind the situation that I faced.I’m just an ordinary legal safety rider.No loud pipes nor anything and my bike’s condition is still considered satisfactory,but what had happened?!

 

When I reached home, I was already still quite ‘high’ by the experience.Rang up a friend to chat and told about the incident. What I heard from him is the final nail to bring the shivers…

He said that there’s once his aunt in Malaysia was driving home after dinner. Same type of scenario happened to her.Hazy road, insects flying, no vehicles on sight, car choking and like going to pull-over anytime.She struggled to keep the car going till at last it worked back-to normal. (understand at this part it still looks not that scary.)

Do you know what really happened between the time the car becomes problematic till worked to normal?

 

When the car starts choking, she looks into her rear mirror(in car) and saw a woman sitting in the backsit at the corner facing outside. Though filled with fright,she kept her cool, mummered some prayers and pretended never see ‘it’.

And you know how the car worked back to normal?

When the car started working fine, she looked into the rear mirror and found ‘it’ gone. Just after the hazy road…

Same like any of us, she went for her prayers once reached home.Some says that ‘they’ are only looking for a free ride for a distance.Just ride safely and slowly if you happened to sway-sway encounter this.Don’t show your fear and say some prayers to yourself.

wah. maybe tonight we should go University road and pass by there then out to lornie gg to adam. coz I got pass-by the grave road from university to lornie. even in hot day that time, after passing the tunnel, can feel cold air around that place. damn spooky.
