i have done my research. share with you.

 

1. safra silver member promo till end of june - $100 entrance fee. $90 quaterly membership fee. location is yishun, toa payoh, mount faber, tampine. the town area not included.

 

2. planet fitness (not quoted for student). there is a package that is around 1500 (it is 1480) for 18month. count to be $98 per month. plus 1 week trial period free. there is 8 gym island wide. extra service is towel provided and bigger then safra.

 

3. fitness first (the most friendly place and most beautiful place). got 9 gym including 2 that is closest to me. very ex. $88 + $29 enterance fee. $153 monthly membership. if choose only 1 club will be $133. towel, PT kit (shirt and short) provided (more convient). the one goege building gym has the nicest view, got hot 25m swim pool. the machine is new (the rest of the club machine is not old also). the sales say in pack hour, does not require to wait for machine too. it is in the same building as i work. there is 1 at amk hub too. very near my home. but it is also the most ex amount all.

 

Safra promotion is the best value. but i have to go see toa payoh gym how it look like. yishun is out of the way becos i stay amk.

actually i don;t know if fitness first membership can be transfer or not. I do know tat the contact is 3 month and 12 month only. after the contract period, it is just monthly fee and u can cancel anytime. if you are still bundle with the 1 yr contract, the penati is $200. (that wat the staff told me).

 

the staff also told me the allow a min of 1 month and a max of 12 month of freezing preiod. that means you don't visit the club but still maintain the membership at 20% of your monthly fee. (i forgot to ask if under contact can do this action or not).

 

basically, (i feel only) it will be like visiting health centre (each visit is $28). got hot pool, got sauna, got steam bath. got short, got towel and got soap. got free drink and chit chat. the only don't have is massage. hehe....

 

hmm... maybe i can open a massage dept in the centre at a joint fee. good idea. i go check check. hahaha.....

just visited safra yishun. the gym is big. machine only lah. there is a sticker saying "try to limit yourself at 20min". i visit at 8pm. no many people (but they are near closing time anyway". they got 6 cycle and 5 running trend, and the usual. i canot only use 3 cycle - the other 3 are those racing type, not suit for me.

 

the staff told me toa payoh is bigger becos of the indoor track. but the machine number about the same.

 

not bad esp now promo rate for silver card. $100 enterence fee (usual is $300). $90 every 3 month (usual is $97). the down side is this promo does not extend to the town club.

did a research on fee.

 

1. fitness first is the most ex.. (about $30-40 apart)

2. followup by planet and califona. (about $20-30 apart)

I got a California Platinum membership, i.e. can go to each of their centres. If I am not mistaken I pay 48$. Paid 2 years in advance and got 3rd year free.

 

This is actually cheaper than what I paid before in KL. For me California is a cool deal and good place, especially at Raffles. Always sumthing for the eyes around too.

i never join any gym yet. i am researhing.

 

although the fitness first is ex. the good part is they don't require you to pay fully. similar to buying a handphone, fitness first have a 12 month contact and a 3 month contact package.

 

there are also the admin fee, the entrance fee and gst and the monthly membership fee.

 

bascially, if you sign a 12 month contact, that means if you want to exit within the 12 month, the penatly is $200.

 

after 12 month, anytime u want to exit is up to your preference.

 

for my reseach, if there is any fitness first member who is not bond by the contract anymore and want to exit the club, pls tell me, i will like to transfer your membership to me. i prefer to be at one geoge building club (single club) becos it is cheaper for single club and it is my working area. I asking for this is becos i don't know if i can hold my job for 12 month or not (of cos i want to continue working there). just pre-plan for rainy day.
