Tot swimming leads to broad shoulders?

Anyway, always work out to wat you can handle....

Make sure you can still talk while running....

yep gene abnormality.. both my sisters have super narrow shoulders too even after swimming training for many years

hmm.. this talk while runnig theory.. is it legitimate? cos i can never talk in btw my weight lifting sets

I've never heard of this theory either and I too never talk while doing my weight training. I only talk during the one minute break until it's time to do the next set. More often than not, I don't talk at all cos I've got no training partner. I just sing or hum quietly to the music that I hear on my MP3 player... :)

this theory of muscles getting used to the workouts..

i used to think that rotating exercises for isolation workouts is the way to go

however after some pondering i came to realize this theory is kinda overhyped in a way..

look at it this way, bowlers arms are huge on one side and they never stop growing till really long.. growth peak as i call it.. it takes abit of time..

... the muscle grows when rest. Basically when you workout, you break or damage fibres of the muscle ... then on the rest days they cure and grow. I always alternate: lower body - cario - **per body - cardio ........

Doing 5 sets with 12 - 10 - 8 - 6 - 12 - 12 reps and train appx 5 main muscles

just to share my personal experience here.

i read somewhere that a very effective excercise to burn calories is to climb stairs. the recommendation was to walk ** the stairs for at least 35 minutes (down the stairs not counted) one step at a time is good enough. stairs climbing is said to be more effective than swimming or jogging or cycling. best point is no need membership, entrance fee or equipment :)

DO. Or DO NOT. There is no TRY.

actually this is not a good idea for overweight people like me. the knee is taking alot of punishment and is bad for the joint (for overweight people only).

take eg, walk a stair of 12 story (eg total time taken 10-15min. burn 85kcal. totally exhaust and weak on the knee)

quick walk for 30-45min, on flat surface (ideally is ** and down slightly). burn 163kcal. the **per tight and lower leg very weak. the back could be weaken too (for over weight people who has big belly like me)

cycle on a machine that has a back protector. use resistance 1->2->3->4->3->4->etc. 30 min burn 163kcal. **per tight and lower leg very weak. the back is not pain.

base on the above case, stair walking is not a idea excise. and it is not recommanded by doctor too (for over weight people only).

i did not study excise issue or gym. i have no knowledge at all. the above is back on my personal experience and base on the recommand given by doctor. i mean, doctor did care for my health and want me to lose weight. he request me excise at least 3 time per week. but hope me excise 5 time per week.

dietian advice walk 3000-6000 step per day. in between, he hope it could be 2000 continue step (that means excises). there is a thing call step-to-meter which help u monitor the step u make everyday.

of cos there are the food recommand but, i skip that here becos u will be bored.

i admit, i personally is not able to follow their recommand to the dot. esp on food. sigh...

u are right. i find u.p-right straight posture, i feel better. slouch or lean forward - i feel pressure. This is my first time on running similate machine (not trend mill). i don't do running becos i worry the knee impact (my right knee is not good).

Yah...

But must make sure you maintain good posture also..... no slouching....

Haiyah. Yesterday I played badminton with my colleagues and today, my butt, thighs and right arm are so bloody aching. My knees are also in pain. After my slipped disc surgery, I stopped playing badminton like a year and a half ago. After yesterday's session, all I can say is that though the flair is there, the finesse has gone. Si bey shacked. Today, si bey OUCH!!!

if ur muscles are sore, eat foods with more protein, rest till u feel your muscles are ready to lift as heavy or heavier than before.. when ur muscles are sore it means that they're breaking down and repairing themselves.. thats how muscles grow

Try taking a protein shake about an hour BEFORE you train and a creatine drink immediately AFTER you finished training. Works wonders for me... :thumb:

bro.. why the protein before train and not after?

creatine i understand the theory and practice but not the protein..

maybe i can learn something new..

btw what were the costs of protein and creatine prices 15 years ago? :D

i like to take my protein during my workout, and creatine with lots of water after i finish my workout.. this is just something i figured works best for me.. btw this creatine thingy, seriously though useful, but it seems only to give minimal gains for me, theres a relatively new product on the market which works better for me.. sth like NOXplode.. its creatine with sth else.. forgot liao.. haha

During training sessions, your muscles are getting broken down. In order to rebuild and repair your muscles, your body needs protein. So having a protein shake before training helps. Protein powders 15 years ago were cheaper than now. However, tasted chalky. Creatine wasn't in the market then. For the costs of protein and creatine now, you go check out the various health supplement shops like GNC and Nature's Farm. Damn expensive... :faint:
