For the engine to run, you need 3 things.

 

Spark, engine compression, fuel

Test ride skipper 1 today, there is a screeching sound during the initial move off but the sound will be gone when the bike starts to accelerate. Owner says, send to a few shops to check but mechanic couldn't find anything adnormal, belts and rollers are changed but sound still there. Any idea what could be wrong.

 

Guess I'm not used to riding a scoot, the bike jerks when I open and close throttle too rapidly. Perhaps I should abandon the idea of getting a skipper.

I think its just ur riding style... hehe too use to big cc bikes?

 

Well skipper is relak bike... so just try to accelerate gradually lor...

When i first started to ride vespa i almost wheelie on every move off !

Haha. Havent tried a CVT scoot yet... planning to get 1 soon... i think shouldnt be much of a diff but just play ard with the initial throttling sooner or later u will tame dat sheep!

 

Ultimax : Sunrise quoted my insurance frm NTUC to be $240... but i tried to get a qoute from NTUC online i was qouted $340... i still trying to borrow $1k from pple haha... i am a poor student... but base on wat i read i think sunrise althou charge higher for the skipper but they do give good services and i think it should be in gd condition to think they sell at a steep price i suppose... well i think its like a gamble la... more then 10yrs bike... so if can find a gd condition i did be thankful man...

hey... dun worry!! it is normal... well... just take ur time to look around... i guess there will be nice skippers around as there are still many on the road... some can run quite fast too~~ hmm..

 

U look damn nice in the picture on the scooter!!! where did u take ur pics?? guess u seriously need to get a skipper soon and we DIY together...

 

Rae... got problem starting ur bike?? mi also... need to crank around 1 min also... it might be the carbon bushing?? jus wondering...

 

Mutu... if u wana get the skipper... just tell simon to get all fix up then u get... then u jus meet one of us and we will help u see if there is any problem with ur bike... u got 1 mth warrenty mah... hahahaha... so check got spoil u just go down get it repaired lor... usually before 1 mth u will see all the problems liao... trust me... but after u are happy with it... there is nuthing to thin about!!

nah..not fuse. was told tt its carb tuning. still having bits of prob starting though...but faster as compared to yesterday.

 

will try wash carb soon to see if it makes any diff.

 

S750WP>> the riding prob is normal. maybe u r too used to 4strokes style of clutching in and arupt throttling. had tt prob when i first got skipper. dare not open throttle too much. but soon i got used to it.

 

anyway..like alvin said, juz look ard slowly, lotsa ppl selling these days. who knows, u might find one tt's very good in condition.

But still its always better to be safe then sorrie... anyway that skipper is already all done up... simon says he hav already done everthing up for the skipper liao engine and everything in condition... sprayed the exhaust black... he say all i need is touch up on the out look only...

 

oryx: haha yah slowly finding... but eventually i think i will still go for skipper la... thats the cheapest ride i can afford now... dun really like rxk... really interested in getting runner but i think i am unable to sustain that kind of ride la...

Err... $850 for machine... so i juz need to add insurance thats all... he qoute my insurance by calling up the company to check and its ard $240 3rd party for 24yrs old... So $1090 OTR... FL plate... consider very ex already... but simon nice guy la he bothered to discuss with me... haha i say too expensive... he tell me if i wan cheap he ask me take the hexagon.. he sell me $200... but got prob dun blame him...

 

Yah maybe getting it next week if i can manage to dig out full cash for the bike..

 

If i can manage to get a part time job and got the $$$ i might consider get a runner... saw the runner with GPR exhaust at bukit timah Al azhah just now... ###### nice!! nice no. plate too. hehe. the rider using half cap somemore...

for me... my breakdown for the bike... i get it... 600 dollars...

1) change engine mounting... 190

2) change tires... 90

3) change belt and service the clutch cos not smooth... 170

The tyre is new but look like scrambler treads lor. then the sidemirror is those chrome 1.lol.

 

I guess the fear is that after 1mth break down means i am pretty screwed.

coz skipper if no prob means no prob... but when got prob it will be a chain reaction... hehe i think u guys more experience should know what i mean... =P

 

Regarding abt respraying ... yah that 1 i definitely need to do! haha gonna make it Gunmetal... can get this color anot? haha. anyway i got another friend riding skipper his hse got the tools to remove the carb ... so can DIY service the carb...

 

other then that maybe got any DIY session can get to learn to do more things that require lesser trip to motortiam...

Funny thing is, after i finalised the deal of my runner, the skipper works fine again! Now don't feel like giving up my skipper!
