After carb wash, crank more than 20 times also cannot start, use kick start have to tried at 8-10 times then it will fire up.

Last nite I adjust the idling screw and air screw until the engine sound to the smoothest and least vibration. This morning 1 crank on the switch the scoot fire up. Will have to monitor for a few days. If not will have to look for Botak again. Sianz.

looks like it's some tuning issue. juz monitor and go back to them to retune if need to. (but i don't thnik you'll need to anymore...problem seem to be solved)

I use the sealant called "Seal All" bought from HOME FIX DIY store at Marina square.

I have fixed the leaky auxilliary tank 1 month ago and the main tank, last fri myself. I'm pissed off with fatty at WM when he told me the leak is due to I overfilled the 2T tank. Infact it was the main fuel tank leaking at the top.

Somehow the design of the Piaggio fuel tank sucks, the joint always leak. So while I removed all the fairing last fri, I patched all the joint with "Seal All" to save future hassle.

wow...still can't find the source of your prob? Fatty is called "Ah Huat"...actually I think he is quite good...

I hope you solve your prob soon, Good luck!

Are you the guy riding the yellow piaggio scoot I saw at WM??

My scoot has no problem actually I went to Botak place to see if he can help me find where is the petrol leak whenever I filled up to the brim. The fatty check and said its 2T leak because I overfilled.

Then I was quite paiseh because fatty checked the scoot for me and I did not patronise. So I tell Botak to wash the carb. Then this fatty took my carb out and for no reason he go and adjust the air screw setting.

After the carb wash I have problem to start the bike, went to botak again and he adjust the air screw for me. But the problem came back again the next day.

hmm...seem that u have quite bad experience eh? maybe we can share more off screen. might cause a stir...esp in scooter forum.

SEAL ALL's the product ultimax recommended? so far so good?

btw..if you fill to brim...petrol will leak out via the overflow tube. until the petrol level reaches below the bottleneck.

The leak is not at the overflow tube, but at the joint where the over flow adaptor was attached to the main fuel tank. Like wise for the auxilliary tank.

I'm not sure if you understand what I am talking about, will share with you guys during the meet up.

So far my auxilliary tank never leak again after I patch up with "Seal All" abt 1 month ago.

I kinda disagree with u. The skipper seires, typhoon series and the early runners are on of the best well built machines.

The reason for u scenarios is age. The last batch of typhoon is 1995. So no matar how good the bike is, the seal sure to break down.

Fuel flow back. to the aux tank. I can be sure that if ur typhoon is stock, no funny mode like skipper tank(don't do it. u will regret). There is no overflow tube.

I'm very sure cos, I have the service manual and now it's with scooter lacer.

How come there are 2 tubes, one is for the flow back what abt the other tube??

And one of the tubing, there seems to be a fuel filter on it?? Or was it something else??

Sorry I'm not trying to be funny, because I can;t comprehend what the functions of the tubing and the manual I have is not complete.

The typhoon fuel tank is in a way complex.

It basically have 2 tanks. a 5.5 liter at tyhe back and a 2+ liter aux tank in front.

The fuel system consist of 2 main group. The fuel flow group and the air flow group.

Fuel flow. When u pump the empty tank. It will first top up the main tank half way. upon reaching "halve" tank, the petrol will flow to the aux. Once the aux is full, only then the main tank can be top up.

Upon running the engine. There's is a fuel pump "same as runner 180. will pump from aux tank to main tank. even if the main tank is full. It will then flow back to the aux tank again. It's only when the main tank is half, then the petrol will not flow to back to the aux tank.

However, it's not so simple. The next sets of air flow tube will control the venting. It's seems easy but is not. all u need is a 1 way air valve failure. Ur aux tank will be stuck. head to toe, If I remeber properly. main tank have total of four inlets.

1 is where u top up the fuel. then next to it is where the flow from the aux tank is.The aux tank will pump into the main from. Thats technicaly 2 on top.

Bottom, again u got 2. 1 flowe to aux tank and the other to ur carb.

I hope I'm not wrong cos I'm not riding typhoon for quite a long while plus my manual is with scooter lacer for quite a long time.

U can trust scooter lacer on the facts. But he's seldom online long due to his busy schedule.

Posted

actually bottom got 3 .

1 to the carb

i to the aux tank

and 1 from the fuel pump to the main tank

the 2 pipes on top of the main tank.

1 is for balancing with the aux tank.

and the other is for venting ( when u used up fuel , the tank will need to suck in air so as not to creat a vacuum in the fuel tank, if that happen then fuel will stop flowing to the carb.) that why that tube will have a one way valve.

there for the typhoon will not have a overflow pipe!!
