Hey, I'm looking for a 2nd hand skipper. Can you guys advice me on these questions of mine? Sorry ah I very newbie, just passed my TP last year.

- Where's a good place to search for sellers?

- How much is the estimated cost of a skipper? Let's say a... 10 years old skipper.

- What to look out for when buying from private sellers?

- How young/old do you recommend me to get?

Thanks a lot people! I really need advice, thanks!

Hi.

At the mean time...,try not to ride too fast wor, at least not til you've got everything sorted out first jus for precaution...

remember, enjoy riding and ride safe.

Skipper is really quite a hardy and low maintenence little piece of machinery. As long as you follow the minimum service requirements of the bike, it will definately serve it's purpose for years well..

Unfortunately there are many skippers we see in shops ending up in very poor conditions bcos due to previous owners who choose to be ignorant and neglect about their bikes  ..

I'm riding a 1995 reg 'lau pok ka' blue factory stock skipper for about 3 years now, Previously thrashed up in the hands of 8 owners... i have renew de Coe for another 10 years already ($1 onli hehe..). For me it's still functioning in one piece la so far....Also owns one runner vxr and a under utilised italjet dragster 180. They are a good fun scoots but i still prefer using my lau pok skipper for transportation as it's more comfy and practical...for a no nonsence nimble scoot the skipper is the way to go for me.. i luv my skipper!!!:lovestruck: hehe.

Hope your noise prob will be solved soon..

Cheers.

Hello..

sorry for the late reply dude.

i'm using ngk BR8ES or denso W24FSU plugs for my skip.

heard some are also using B7HS heat range for skippers too, you think it's abit hot? Like to hear your views about it.

btw what plug are you using?

For my old Hexygon, this problem lead to fautly magnetic coil. But the fautly thing will cause the bike to die engine if stopped.

Why noy have ur bike check by the mech.

Hi

Do you hear any cranking sound from your starter moto? since you mentioned it's not due to the batt.

maybe you can try to check a few things like fuse, starter motor or due to the starter pinion gear not engaging in place..(ex to replace) .

i suggest you bring yr bike to your mech for checks to save the trouble. Good luck!

jus sharing...

cheers.
