Many many thanks to ROL13. Not only did he bother to ride down to my place to have a look at my friend's skipper, he even had the initiative to call Tiong Ai before coming to check how much a replacement CDI costs! As it turns out, it wasn't a faulty CDI but a problematic 2T pump. Basically, something went wrong somewhere and the carb was flooded with 2T. ROL13 spent more than 2hrs working on my bike. He was even willing to remove parts from his skipper and install them in my friend's bike to see if that part was faulty.

Thankfully, all that was required was a carb wash. Although it was a really messy, oil job, no thanks to the 2T which had leaked all over the engine, Rol13 didn't complain at all.

So a big :thumb: to Rol13 for his patience, prepardness (he even brought a cordless screwdriver and newspapers along!) and most importantly, willingness to help other skipper riders.

Thanks Rol! There aren't many ppl like you out there!

Hi bros,

My main stand broke off from my skipper sometime back. The bike has been leaning on the wall every now and then. Any lobangs to fix a strong stand? From what I understand is that, the original mainstand comes with the chasis of the bike thus its impossible to remove a main stand from another skipper and put weld onto mine.

bros, pls advise...

Wats the actual problem with yours, mine was the chasis holding the main stand, corroded big time, welded and redo that whole part of the bike.

Are u meaning the carpark at the basketball court? Actually No need to push, i can meet up at ur place, won't take me more than 5 min to ride there. Sms me at 91013324, i can onli meet up after office hour. I borrow u my cdi and we see how the things go:smile:

Skipper CDI is quite funny. At times it does not ignites a spark plug, all U need to do is take a spannar & hit at the CDI then it ignites.

Never beat never listen. Must beat then listen. :cheeky:

Most skippers are at least 9 years old.

Well used and proven to be a great transport scooter.

It seldom give any serious problems. that's why this thread is

more "quiet" than others :cheeky:

If you want something "new", You can try the piaggio typhoon:P

It's the same engine and chasis as the skipper.

But different body panels and suspension.

The's 3 brand new units of typhoon left at SH cycle.

New as in never used before. But they have being sitting there for a long while.

9 years to be more exact. So, if you plan to buy, you need to spend like $200 to fully restore it. Nothing serious actually. Just some serious rubber changes.

Ditech90 is selling his typhoon. His is in a good condition. Just that he's driving now and intent to sells his under utilized scooter.

Well, that's a piaggio flaw for those that are manufactured before 1995.

Reason is that the circuitry is not meant to take load.

Subsequent CDI that are manufactured after 1995 have lesser problems.

Well, If the CDI don't break down and the head like won't fload after a heavy rain,

It not A italian Piaggio

around 2K+/- I think.

The one at SH cycle is 3K not inclusive of insurance.

By right they will change all rubbers before handing it to you.

But I don't quite like the idea.

I ask the to leave it alone and pass to TH. and get a discount of $200.

Then spend something like $185 at TH to do up to what I want.

If you are really interested in Ditech90's typhoon, you can reach him at this no.

91075591.

Do not SMS. He prefers to talk. And advice, please see the bike first before going into price details. He hates it when you ask for discounts before see the bike. And his bike is definately worth the 2K. With all the effort put in.

Discription of his typhoon.:

Original orange colour.

Engine runs in properly.

101% accident free.

With box.

And definately low mileage.

i have seen the bike & its as good as newly run in typhoon.

it is in very very good condition.

Ditech is the type who takes care of his things.

u will know it after seeing the bike & talking to him.

Ok, you need to open the panel just at the bottom of your ignitiion key holder. On the left side, you would see 4 fuse. I believe the fuse at the most inner part is the light fuse. Plug it out and check whether the wire has broken.

Anyway the fuse is cheap, 1 buck at most of the motordiam.

thanks.......

solve my headlight problem liao.

it is the fuse problem.

thanks a thousand!
