Lots of thing may cost the speed drop. If you really wanna do it, you may want to send to bike shop for a full servicing, check it out and replace parts which need to be change

1. Yes, there should be an airfilter, and you should definitely install one. I think it's abt $20.

2. ROL13 told me that bike underperforms when there isn't an airfilter. I found this to be true too. I'm not sure why though ...

3. Clean your carb. If the bike's been running without an airfilter, there's a very high possibility that it is dirty.

Hi, confirm got air filter. But werid, i take out air filter, can only run up to 60km/hr.

U actually can run up to 90. Anyway there is a lot of reason for a skipper to under perform, frm fuel to Power transmission componets (example: roller). Maybe the auto experts can help.

But, 90km/h for skipper is considered normal, i also cannot hit more than 100km/h.

Anyway have more mercy on the old lamb, he is not made to run like a horse.:cheeky:

funnie leh. i today buy one filter from ah boy. coz 10 bucks. put liao oso max speed is 90km/hr. put or dun put max speed stays the same. One skipper rider PM me say some owners dun put to INCREASE the bike's power leh... btw, my skipper is FL plate one. Also got another prob.. the speedometer keep fluctuating leh... can it be coz the carbarator is dirty?? hmm....

Technically, A skipper top speed is 95km/h.

as according to official specs. but not accurate one.

Usually, it will range from 90 to 110km/h. TAke note, it can

be meter error too.

But a new belt and rollers will usually solve the problem.

When belts and rollers wear out, the top speed does drop a bit.

Maybe like 5km/h?

But if you use malossi kevlar belt, it will give you a slightly higher top speed like 110? This is becourse, the malossi belt is stiffer and have less belt flex.

So more traction power is transmiited.

Needle jumping? You might want to check the speedo cable and lub them. IF this does not solve the problem, Your speedo gear unit or meter may be goner.

It's hard to extactly know what problems your skipper is facing.

Like what kenny said. It's still better to bring you skr to a reputable bike shop to

have a check.

i tink u're rite.. no wonder my bikes seems to be faster abit after changing the rollers..

A simple summarised.

Maintenance:

Every 10000km, changed your

normal belt ~ 30 dollars plus, ( Don wait for it to tear, you would regret)

spark plug, ( Don wait for it to die on u)

roller and clip ( not a must, but since changing belt, may as well do it)

Quoted://

Tyre (rear): Manual recommended: 29 PSI ( i used 32 Psi)

Tyre (Front): Manual recommended: 21 PSI ( i used 25 Psi)

AIR Filter: i wash it every 3 mths depends on weather. For Wet season, i would wash it every 2 mths.

Rear hub oil: maybe changed it alternatively when you change your rear tyre.

Spray Hi-temp paint on your exhaust pipe occasionally, tends to rust until got lobang. If got lobang, gd luck. Ur bike definately louder than Harley. I onced gana that, people ( jaws opened) looked at me like superman jus flied over.

Thats all for maintence . Simple isnt it.

Anyway, just remember to top up your 2t whenever you top up your petrol.

Insufficient 2t would kill your piston.

If you shout more louder than your horn, i would suggest that you change your horn. For me, i changed to Stebel Magnum ($18).

Quoted://

It was stated to spray hi temp paint so dat the pipe wun have lobang. I think mine have already coz its so noisy now. Anyone any idea wat to do ? I change my belting and it cost 90 bux. Sheesh. Kena conned big time already now dat u guys are saying its only 30 bux. Any place to recommend for gd servicing for my skipper?

Yamaha DT200WR, Piaggio Skipper 125, Yamaha WR400S, Honda Wave 125S, Honda Super Four Vtec 1, Gilera Runner VXR 200, Honda XR600R, Honda Super Four Revo, Gilera Runner ST200

Suzuki Swift, Honda Fit 06, Nissan Latio, Honda Fit 08, Toyota Wish
