The location of the two canteens is shown below...

http://www.onemap.sg/?SearchVal=NANYANG%20TECHNOLOGICAL%20UNIVERSITY%20BUS%20STOP%20CANTEEN%202%2C%20%2035%20STUDENT%20WALK%20LEVEL%201%2C%20%20SINGAPORE%20639548%20(AXS%20STATION)&LW:Y&wO5d:qYaaJ_R,IaqaY_c,qJfaR_q,IcYfa_f,a

Take the PIE towards Tuas, turn off at Nanyang flyover, keep right, turn left at the round about after the traffic lights, turn right at the junction, take the left fork (carpark gantry, keep left, if not enough space then keep right and let the gantry open for you, free parking), when reached the next junction, canteen 1 is on the left and canteen 2 is on the right.

I will wait for you guys at canteen 1 (air-con, hehehe...) look out for my Spyder....

sure mate, hope the weather is fine that day

Ok, NTU carpark B is not shown on any map since it is a basement carpark... and giving directions to it is near impossible, we always have delivery people getting lost inside NTU.... hope it doesn't rain that day....

As someone who first fell off a bike in 1970 and still rides (BMW R nineT) I would love to join you but won't be in country. Keep this going and I will make sure I join you for a later meet 🏍💨 Ride safe and never give up, even when your body tells you to 😎

Last time, there is not much traffic, no jams thus people get to their destinations on time... nowadays, high traffic volume almost everywhere... people getting late thus tempers flare leading to reckless driving/riding and accidents....

We... ahem... older folks tend to prefer shaft drive is that it doesn't require much attention and maintenance.... we cannot squat down for long periods without getting ache here and there... nowadays only big bikes have shaft drive... where else in the good old days, even 400cc bikes have shaft driven rear, aka Honda NV400 custom... the demise of such bikes having shaft drive is due to costs... now only larger capacity bikes have shaft.... same goes for multi cylinders, Honda new 400 and 500 are twins... sigh.... last time, Honda even came out with a CB 250 four!....

Riding my Spyder, I have to be at or above the metric ton in order to use top gear... anything less in top gear and you are lugging the engine...

Hmm....almost 2 months pass since I came in here.... just to let those interested that we old timers are still alive and kicking... the last I contacted James, he is still recovering from his shoulder injury.... the problem with us is, any serious injuries will take a long time to recover... if we ever recover fully.... so hang in there...

talk about old timers. hahaha. in my office, it seems there are many of my co-workers who are actually old timers too. out of 7 staff, 4 of us are reaching 55. basically 1 lady is 55 this year. another guy is 54, myself 53 and another guy is 52. we were actually discussing abt cpf yesterday and and how much we should actually leave for our retirement sum.

in my mind, i was actually thinking abt my old timers buddy in sbf. what a coincidence.

recently, i also saw reborn biker just using sbf after long not been in here. I pray and hope he is fine.

well, i also hope james is fine too.

Take care ALL

Yesterday, i went JB. used Tuas. Saw several "old timers". wow. put me to shame man. saw these 3 guys with white hair but quite tall. their facial look didnt really seem so old . probably around 50ish. but they were on scramblers man. must have gone tracking

then at the Petron station, saw this elderly gentleman (60ish) riding a Kawa GTR 1400. He is really unique. He is about my height maybe shorter but weighs twice than me. I could see after filling up petrol, he had trouble putting up the bike, just like me. But I admire his skill and enthusiasm riding. After filling up, he rode to the side and chatted with an elderly ang moh friend who is way to tall for the other Kawa 1400 (not GTR)

Normally I would see them talikng but because my son was tired at 10pm. I rode off

It doesn't matter how old you are to ride such tall and big bikes.... as long as you are free from ailments that impair your ability to ride.... but for most of us, once we reach past 50, all sorts of pains also come along... recently I'm diagnosed with worn cartilage in my left knee and tennis elbow.... have to take glucosamine tablets for life.... and can only mount the bike on the right side so as not to put too much strain on the said knee...

When I went for my Spyder inspection, met an Indian uncle working for a bike recovery company... he said he's 70 and owns 2 Hayabusa and frequently ride to Thailand... like the saying goes.... "You don't stop riding when you are old, you grow old when you stop riding"

Yesterday, got a call from my old riding buddy and ex-colleague. He is almost 50. He has been based in China for the last 3 years. I heard his voice very soft almost inaudible. I asked him . whats wrong? Jak, he said . I have been sick for the last 3 months. He was struck by stroke most probably by high blood pressure. Now his kidney is most probably not working.

i told him. please come back to singapore. get treatment here. He said its difficult to get leave. Oh my God.I cry for him. He is very worried if he is fired, then in singapore he will not get a job anymore

LAST weekend , my family and I had a staycation at JB. Decided to check out early as my baby going to have exam today onward. decided to use Tuas even though our hotel was at Berjaya Harbourfront. we stopped at Gelang Patah R and R.

After eating, I met one of my relatives. While I have met him many times, since he married my cousing who is 3 to 4 years older than me, I always acknowledged him as elder. He was buying some food. While waiting, he told me he was "gunned" by TP around Petronas going towards JB at 116km/hr. I hope TP will let it go.

Now, we sat down and continued our chat. Now my relative here rides a FJR1300 and we chatted everything abt bikes. he is slghtly taller than me around 1.69m. not the slightest abt family . hahahhaha.

while chatting from the chair i saw a GTR and said to him. That GTR always stopped here. he turned around and said, he knew the rider.

GTR rider(50ish) came and then another rider (oh man he is like almost 70, pudgish) riding a STx1300. then came another maybe nearly 50 ridinga brand new FJR.

we chatted for almost 1 hour. wifey and children getting bored.

decided to say sorry. had to go. they were like so ok. went to fill up petrol and left. just as we reached singapore immi, i saw them reaching there too.

oh man, my brain was like "should i get a 1300????

then strange, today got a sms, somebody asking if i am still selling my 1998 CB750. hahahhahahahah

I wait......still got more months before I get the keys to my Singles BTO.

One bus only in my estate. And the North South Line is not going to be easy on peak hours.

So should I start small first with a Kup Kia, or get a Class 2 with boxes and add in a spare bike Kup Kia?

Work place is still going to be at Ulu places.

Dont forget to invite me to the house warming ok? budget constraint, i think class 2a is best. if home is far from work, its best to get a autoscooter VK. after more than 6 months with my CB750, my aching left hand is complaining. am thinking to go back to my 2 bikes in the stable. cb750 for malaysia / weekend riding and 400cc scooter for work. hmmmmm

get an NC750X? Price not too far away fm class 2A bike, but holds price better, have reserve power if u need it, very relaxed upright riding position and ample storage space & options.

or go sexy with a slim profile sports bike... full black leather like a true kitty

GOOD BYE 2016 . It has been a an incredible year with many surprises. Especially in other parts of the world. while we awed and maybe weep when other countries have new president , we will be facing new president next year.

Hello 2017 . I pray and hope you will be better than 2016.

to all the old timer bikers, I hope you all have better years ahead.

Well wishes .

2 WEEKS ago , got a call from my ex-colleague. it seemed his colleague (as he is still working in the same dept I left), had a stroke. right side paralysis. My ex-colleague (stroke patient) is coming to be 50 this year. I met him a few days later in TTSH. My eyes teared seeing him in this position. He tried to talk to me but words just couldnt come out. My ears (maybe after years of riding) also couldnt hear him much. I could see his frustration.

His left hand was trying to show me his right side has no response.

This week I was told he can slightly move his right take to some theraphy and his massage.

Just glad he was not driving when he got it.

I, I , I ?? very worried . I hope I am avoided from stroke , worse while riding
