just to share , update the phone internal software to i900DXHG2 version , it will get rid of the funny bug whereby camera will seize to function due to insufficient memory upon opening few programs.

With the G2 version the camera will function even though u got multiple programs on .. and the phone is not as bulky compared to my former N80 , just hate the fact that the buttons are harder to locate n pressed since its touch screen n im not used to such functions ..

Care to share how did you update the phone internal software? Do you mean by updating the Window Mobile update? Or can you explain to me step by step where did you get the option to update the internal software?

Also, where do I go to ... to find the software version that I am using?

Ok , the latest update doesnt help, the bug is still there. U can go to samsung service centre to do the updates.

Due to my ignorance, had i known this is such a new phone, i would have waited longer ! Let the software stabalised 1st !

What is your problem so far you have for I900?

For me, I dun have the problem with the camera ... even though I have multiple programs running ...

So far ... I only have experienced some hanging when I run some third party softwares ... but I guess it's due to the third party software that caused the problem.. otherwise ... all the stock softwares that comes with the I900 has no problems at all for me ...

Maybe you can install Handyswitcher, it's a third party software that manages all the tasks you are running and able to free up memory ... to me ... it's better than the task manager that I900 has ...

I believe tat its due to tat the fone's processor is quite slow too , cant handle too many applications at one time .

cyrix76> u have got the Omnia? can let me play with it when i meet u next time? I want to get this phone also.

Sure thing ... when we meet again next time... will let you test out...

I am using it for GPS as well ... when you see my bike handle .. there's a HP holder.... I use it to place the Samsung I900 on it for navigation ... :)

I'm just like you ... need to rely GPS to nagivate sometimes ... becos I am so sticked to my usualy route to work and back to home .. till I never have the chance to explore Singapore road ... hahaha...

Anyway, this phone is much much better than the old SE990i which I also used as a GPS device ...

Only bad part of it is the Auto Rotate feature ... when you tilt your hp slightly ... it'll go on to Landscape mode ... even if I have set the sensitive level to minimal .. still a slight tilt .. it will goes to Landscape ...

Processor is a bit slow ... according to what Speedpass has mentioned... especially the transition from the phone interface(desktop) to the main menu and to the shortcut ... a bit slow and sluggish ... but overall, applications run well.

like to ask how is the speaker clarity? is it good ? i mean during playing mp3 through speaker

The loudness of the speaker is quite alright... I like to listen to the radio in the morning with full volume and so far it has performed well ... music and voice sounds clear. Only part of Omnia is that there is no built in equalizer... if I compared to my Sony Errisson phones... it'll lose to SE in terms of sound quality.

I signed up with M1 with contract and I paid $600 plus ... cannot remember the exact amount... if I am not wrong ... the phone cost 1k plus without contract...

Bad thing about the bundle is that ... it doesn't comes with the tv cable ... :( ... and it has only one battery.... battery life for I900 is not that good if you're using the built in GPS ...

I'm using Garmin Mobile XT ... it has 3D route and the best thing is ... the map updates are free ... can download from MalSing forum .... the built in GPS software is too tedious to use ... took me sometime to figure out ... but in the end... I dun like the software and installed the Garmin Mobile XT ...

For Garmin Mobile XT ... either you need to link to a bluetooth GPS receiver or you need to purchase the software to unlock it to use the i900 internal GPS receiver ... the software is free to download and free to use with a pairing bluetooth receiver...

I have tested the battery life for I900 using GPS ... it can clocked the most 3.5 hours before the battery run flat ... so I guess I900 is not meant for navigation purposes ... but rather let you know where you are when you're lost ... Be aware... prolong usage of GPS will heat up the base of your I900 ... this is what I have noticed ... when I took out the I900 from the HP cradle... the I900 is kinda hot...
