redlining; in ur RPM meter there is a red zone(numbers/indicators marked in red) to show that the area will cause engine to overheat or possible damage....etc

higher fuel consumption means it requires more fuel to go the same mileage.

meaning it takes more fuel

goes lesser km/l

Posted

actually it depends, i heard some probably get 34km/l also. depends on the way u ride(throttle control)

its a difference of a few kms

its better for tight budget also because u don't spend the extra "3k" more for the faired version plus if lets say u drop of get into an accident, u spend less fixing it

Posted

redlining gives u that little extra *ooomph* feeling. hahaha.

zhenlong, Higher fc does not equate to spending more. Lets use 2 used bikes: naked Roadwin with a fuel consumption of 25km/liters with a price tag of 2.7k, and a full fairing Roadwin with a fuel consumption of 35km/liters with a price tag of 5.7k.

Lets say, u travel 250km a week, u will use 10liters on the naked one, 7.14 liters on the full fairing roadwin. that's a difference of 2.86 liters. Lets say we pump petrol at caltex using 98 which is $1.96/liter. 2.86liters X $1.96 = $5.60.

U spend $5.60 more per week on the naked roadwin 125 compared to the roadwin r125.

1 year, you will spend (52 weeks X $5.60) = $291.20 more on the naked one.

With a price difference of 3k, u will need to ride the naked roadwin 125 for 10.3years to match the higher fixed cost of the roadwin r125.

all these calculations are based on fuel consumption only. If we take into consideration about other factors such as maintenance and all that, it will be a different story.

The older the bike, the higher possibility of it giving us problems.

Question, any of you changed your brake pads already? I changed my rear brake pad but it still squeeches like a banshee on heat. tried to add grease to the moving parts but doesn't work...

Any of you tried different brake pads other than stock?

Posted

nope.haven't changed yet. you replaced yours with a stock one? srsly, the stock one sucks. can we get better ones?

oh ya, has anyone changed their headlights yet? i feel that mine is getting too yellowish for my liking. feel like changing to white halogen lights but i don't know where is reliable to have my bulb changed.

lol you do have a point. However like what Dotless and Fleas mention, all these different factors point to the Roadwin Naked using old technology. Still the question remains; Are you using this bike for just a transport till you upgrade to class 2? If you are and you want to save on petrol I strongly recommend 125R(fairing). THEN again, they are other bikes on the market that can potentially hit 40km/L. You might want to explore all your options too before deciding.

That OOpmh feeling??!!o_Oo_O:angel::angel::angel::angel: I've only ever redline my bike twice when i was trying to push it..yea I know that Oopmg feeling lol....

Ride safely brothers alot of P-plate drivers on the road these days...all switch lane just switch never check their blindspot. I just give thanks to God that they didn't hit me!!:):)

P plate never check blindspot? i thought they suppose to be the safest, fresh from the oven...they checking blindspot non stop for few mnths...haha

Use a toothbrush that you don't want. Use Kerosene which you can buy from all those 1dolla2dolla lelonglelong shop. Set on main stand Then just brush the chain clean. Once its done, by now all your hands shld be black as *nevermind*. Just use a spray to hose down all the grim. After PLEASE LUBE YOUR CHAIN WITH MAXIMA CHAIN LUBE(gold one).

according to WBW, kerosene is carcinogenic meaning it can cause cancer. So please get the gloves from those 1dolla2dolla lelonglelong shop.

I have tried WD40 before and it works! after which after cleaning apply lube.

Hi to all,

I just collected my Daelim R125 a few days ago and I noticed that in the morning after I rode to offiice.... the front lamp can see fogging at the corner.... and then it disappeared after an hour or so....

Any ideas how can this be resolved??? or Anyone has the same issue???

Thanks.

erm . that fogging is not much of a issue .. just that inside the lamp is hotter than outside tempertaure , so will cause a small fogging at the corner.. normal normal....

for 2nd one.. that sqeek sqeek sound is also very normal because in between the brake and brake pad will have some dust or so-called dirt stuck into it..

just take out and have a clean , normally shouldn't be a problem..

any problem just post it out loud .. if possible , we will help you

Anyway welcome... =D

PS : CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG !!

those with o-ring need to lube or not??

wow, how much issit?

hey divine, perhaps try wiping ur rear disc with damp cloth.

btw, those who want to lube chain can try this if they are alone;

1) put on mainstand

1.5) clean chain

2) turn on engine

3) clutch in, gear 1

4) slowly engage clutch(release clutch)

5) let the wheel roll for awhile(to heat chain)

6) then spray lube as the chain move

7) when done, clutch in, put to neutral and off engine

win!
