ABS and more advance technologies are available for higher CC bikes which are not available for the lower CC bikes. I think a change in the way our license are categorised should be done instead so that safer bikes are available for new riders.

nice,:thumb:i remembered my first fishtail, thoughts of Se liao must cough more money if I fall!just ran through my mind, anyways Thank God, was safe after that.

JJust keep looking ahead and feel the brakes, let go gradually...Another reason why ABS shld be offered for all bikes!

I'm thinking more on the re-categorising our licenses to include higher CC bikes that have more safety features as a start rather than later.

exactly, but the mindset is that new riders starting out on a low cc motorcycle will definitely want to buy upgrade, so through the years probably the assumptions are they get financially stable so are willing to pay for the extra features they get from bigger cc bikes...so its not gonna be worth buying a 2b bike with ABS when they're going to be upgrading the year after that!!! But it'll be interesting to see a company do that

they really put their new riders to the test for the first year BUT after that they can ride any bike they want!:dozed:

Ours is 200cc and below, 2nd yr 400cc 3rd yr any bike we want!

5.5k to 6k. insurance for 21 and below 1k++.

ian,this is what i think. higher cc bikes will have more power and i guess what they are afraid of is that new riders won't be able to handle that power so they limit it to much lower cc bikes. Some guys might find it second nature to ride a bike but there are those who are just not like that so by limiting their power, it lets them get accustomed to riding a bike first then they can play later on.

With more safety features in a bike, its definitely gonna cost more and i doubt many riders would wanna pay so much for a 200cc and below bike.

u pay for what u get i suppose.

anyway,

meeet up sooon?

Ya. I guess so. But I think my beef is with the fact that the system seems to be out to discourage people from riding... :-P
