Thanks

Degreaser is for cleaning chain. If you have the inclination and time, dismantle fairing and use it to clean engine too.

Divine using kerosene for his chain. I strongly discourage this because kerosene will kill the X or O ring rubber seals on the chain. If want cheap solution, use diesel instead. Get a empty engine oil bottle from bike shop and fill at station. Less than $2. I prefer degreaser in-a-can because can spray directly on chain without splattering else where too much. Kerosene/diesel on paintwork will dull the gloss.

Hey, Kelvin! We met at CKA Saturday. Tried looking for you yesterday and found several nivlek nicks! All of them yours? Sent PM to "Nivlek" about seats. Could you PM me your hp number?

Super 4 Spec II or III (non V-Tec) lower maintenance. Doesn't matter anyway as you don't like its looks. The point is that I think its wise to progress to 2A bikes before jumping straight to class 2. Get a well maintained 2A bike whose owner already pre-loved it by suffering the depreciation, and it will be worth it.

In my case, I have no choice but to start at 2B all over, thus RoadwinR. I also spent a lot of time researching/searching for well maintained good priced bike. If I were to sell my bike next year, I can make a small profit! :thumb::angel:

So, do your homework, buy second-hand 2A if your intention is to get CL2 bike eventually. Learn to ride and maintain it properly and enjoy. If your choice is a good one for your needs, you may find that you might not want a CL 2 bike afterall.

I'm considering. Can only confirm in about 2 weeks just before registration close, I think. :p

Agreed! :thumb::thumb::thumb:

:btw: here's a little anecdote:

My friend's (RS125 racer [seriously, he is]) father (Hayabusa rider) had this "friend", who met them at the bike shop one day. Busa Rider congratulated his friend on getting his Class 2 and asked, So are you changing bike?" Busa Rider, knowing that his friend's riding skills need some good old "polishing" with sweat and perhaps a little blood, advised his friend to take it easy. Friend's reply: "Cannot!! I worked so hard for my Class 2, now must get HAYABUSA!"

RS125 Racer and Busa rider met Friend again a couple of weeks later at same bike shop with his new Busa ride. Friend was there to change tyres. They finished TCSS, Friend rode off with brand new tyres on his new Class 2 Busa ride. Not far from the shop, they saw him fishtail and crashed.

RS125 Racer and Busa Rider went... :slapforehead:

Cut away cowling? Is that because you lowered your stock handle bar assembly?

Cameron Trip

Any more bros want to go? Let's go turn it into a Roadwin 125R trip! LOL

Those who face "No" veto from parents can do more to convince them that it is safe.

Show them this page: All About Touring

Tell them you will be riding with very experienced riders and that going on such trips will help you become a better and safer rider.

Need more ammo can also mention that this "uncle" also going and will look out for you. hahaha

Let me know if you need my help convincing them.

Cheers

u all keep talking about the trip...its making me jealous.... :(

You confident about our bikes?? haha...cameron is steeper than genting...

No problem lah. Heard of this expression: "Its the rider not the bike."?

Just make sure to pack lightly and practice riding up hills (Sorry hor, Sillpore no mountain... LOL) and twisty roads. See next post for first practice.

Cannot use WD40 on chain and any rubber parts. It will dry the rubber. Always use the right tool for the job and you'll never have to regret later. Don't be penny wise pound foolish, ok?

Oi! Me not "lao", ok? :gun::gun:

I haven't finished researching yet coz still enjoying my RoadwinR :)

Actually it's not a simple one-size fits all answer. It all depends on what you want to do with the bike.

Want to ride trails/off-road? Plenty of choices

Commuter/Street: Super 4, GSR400, Silver Wing 400 + Majesty

+ a few more

Fast and Furious? NInja 250, CBR400

Try to be fast but frugal? RoadwinR 250, YBR250

Plenty of choices and most importantly its all up to the individual's needs.

lol. new bike tires still have that layer of something on them which makes them slick. i guess lotsa people who arent familiar with the rear wheel's power fishtail 10 meters out of the showroom. haha!

Ya lor. Basic thing like that also don't know claim to be Class 2 rider. He worked very hard for it you know? :p
