Its okay wah at least your rear fender still has that sexy girl sticker on it!

In singapore context, i can overtake its no problem. (NSHW also no problem)

What i meant was when you're on those single lane curvy long malaysian trunk roads..where those big lorries are blocking your vision ahead so you want to overtake on the right correct, but if you're overtaking you're exposing yourself to oncoming traffic for a short time. I can overtake its fine but I'm revving the sh*t out of the engine to squeeze out the torque....which is not want i want to....very stressful to my white beauty:cheeky: also i want to save petrol. Revving high means the bike's gonna burn more fuel.

Hope this clarifies.

About the quote "Its the Rider not the bike". i beg to defer. 2riders drag race both skill level equally good. 2diff bikes probably 1 cbr125(4-stroke) vs 1 RS125(2-stroke)....Both riders want to win. You're saying the cbr125 can beat the RS125 two stroke? No. As Riders we have our limitations; that is the bikes we ride, Rams you mentioned yourself that 125cc not enough and you were looking ahead to upgrade to 2a. I mean why upgrade when you have no regrets?.......Ok ah disclaimer Writing in text looks like I'm pinpointing but in order to get to the point, boh pian i can't beat around the bush. NO OFFENSE!!!!!!!! Let the Flaming began!:):cheers:

er, thats not very true, everyday i am riding at red line and im still clocking at least 33km/l (pls note that i didnt do any mods.)

regarding the quote "Its the Rider not the bike" i know a of a person riding 125 beating a 400 at topspeed. but theres alot of factors.

rwr125 single front disc.

rwr250 dual front disc.

asked roy b4 bout the 250 and he said just abiit more power. have yet to see rwr250 on roads so no comment. maybe top speed will be around 170kph?

been researching bout ninja 250 and read that its fc is near 25k/l-30k/l. top speed 170. acceln not too bad, cruising at 100-130 no problem. bike been tuned for low to mid range power and its meant to be pushed to the high rpms for good performance. spare parts wise, well malaysia has a kawa factory and there are alot more ninja250 in malaysia then singapore.

o ya, Hey RwrRiders! long time nvr come in here... divine told me bout the outing though... recently the naked forum picking up. lotsa new birds willing to fly.. lol

:dot: Warning, long post!

I think we need to be mindful that this is a public forum. When posting in a public forum, especially when doing so in answering non-owner’s questions or even questions from owners about our rides, we should be cautious about our answers. If you know the answer to the question well, do post so we can all learn something about our shared passion. Knowing the answer to the issue in question well, means

a) you have personal knowledge through own personal experience about an issue and have solved it, or

b) you have read about the issue in question somewhere and you feel that the info will help solve the problem. In this case, do share the info and the source as well. This is important because we may not have the time nor personal knowledge to write about the issue to assist the person asking for help.

Very often our bare recollection of what we’ve read elsewhere about a topic isn’t enough. So when we attempt to “help” by posting 2-4 sentences or even 10 paragraphs, but with limited knowledge, we will be doing everyone a disservice.

We should also be mindful of context. If you’re not sure about the question, ask further to clarify before answering. Alternatively, and if applicable, we can also provide answers with assumptions clearly stated.

Thus, with that in mind, here is my view about our ride.

In answer to NoFishesAllowed’s question (See original post here):

Since I don’t know the specific power output of rwr250 and rwr125, I’d point NoFishesAllowed to CKA or Daelim Korea website for hp output info. Indicating that test rides are available at CKA is great, provided it’s still available now.

I wouldn’t state “From a layman's perspective, its just got that extra OOpmmh to push you forward, which is what the 125cc needs when you need to overtake a car. 125cc is seriously underpowered.” I find this paragraph to be VERY mis-leading. “...got extra [oomph] is correct, when comparing a 250cc bike with a 125cc bike. For that matter any bike make with higher capacity engine will give you that extra power.

rwr125 certainly has more than enough power to overtake cars. It all depends on the speed at which you wish to overtake. “125cc is seriously underpowered” is incorrect. It is a 125cc bike and it has sufficient power to ride safely on highways, including overtaking cars, buses or lorries. One ex-owner rode our rwr125 all the way to the joint borders of Thailand, Cambodia and Laos, climbing real mountains along the way. (Google - Ninjapura Thailand Ride)

The third paragraph is more an indication of the rider’s skills. Firestation regularly ride on the trunk roads in Johore, with no problems overtaking lorries. Are there lorries in rural Thailand? Most certainly yes!

I’ve been riding the rwr125 since July (bought 2nd-hand). I was initially disappointed with it. See my post here. Now that I’ve fixed the issues I’m really enjoying it. Enough power for a 125cc bike, very stable at speed because of its weight. The stability trait is something I don’t think I would experience riding other 125cc smaller sized bikes. In the 2 months of riding, I’ve only needed to fill the tank 3 times!

Am I totally happy with it? No. There is a frequency vibration felt at the 5500-6800rpm range. Its fine outside of that range. I’m still looking for a good fix. One “easy” solution is to use sponge-type grips. I’m not inclined to use them as they smell after awhile (Sponge is humid conditions is a great breeding ground for bacteria). Note that even though rwr125's engine has a balancer shaft, it isn't enough to damp the vibration at that rpm range. The vibration on the naked Roadwin is worse due to omission of the balancer shaft on that engine.

So, NoFishesAllowed, since you are asking about the rwr250, I’m assuming you have at least Class 2A license. Like DivineCreations recommended, go for a test ride if it is still available at the dealer. However I would suggest you compare it to the other 250cc bikes available, like the Ninja250.

The phrase “It’s the rider, not the bike.” is meant to highlight strengths or weaknesses of riders riding bikes of similar characteristics. Good riders can handle and ride skilfully on any bike, whether you give them a cub, scooter or litre bike. Good riders also know how to effectively ride their bike in the most daunting conditions.

Cheers

Hey, champ! :thumb:

I'm also getting that consumption. Just posted new personal top speed of 125kmh the other as well. :)

Unfortunately, some people think that riding at higher rpm (not exceeding redline) will stress out the bike. That's not true. In fact if one were to ride it regularly at mid-range rpms, it is more likely to cause damage to the engine. That's what happened to my bike after being ridden that way for close to two years. When I got it, it was sluggish and couldn't go beyond 100kmh!

Different animal nowadays. Just feel like she wants to run...

Hi YenYu!

Sure, you're welcomed to join us.

I'm not sure if the ride is on or not though.

When I planned the ride, it was in response to some members here who have concerns about riding up mountains and "bendy" trunk roads. So the route was selected so we can all practice to acquire the skills. I understand they now want to just meet for makan.

Do watch this space for developments.

Anyway, I'll be at Expo (main entrance carpark. Red P Plate RWR; FBD 3-digit). Usually there is space to park right in front of the F&B outlets. If no one is interested in riding and just want to talk & eat, I don't mind meeting for awhile. After that I'll go for my ride :)

See you then.
