3 point crash bar WILL cause vibrations. its a matter of how much. cos 2 points of the 3 point crash bar is mounted at the engine mounting n the last one to the frame. n not forgetting the fittings for the 3 point crash bar is not of good quality. there r cases of bike drop, 3 point crash bar bend in n nearly touch the engine casing.

2 point crash bar is not as strong. it can only protect from bike drop or very slow speed crash. the mounting for the 2 point crash bar is mounted on the frame itself therefore NO vibration caused by engine less the original vibrations that it had.

frame slider, only fix to one of the engine mounting. excess vibration, very minimum. almost the same as 2 point crash bar. the protection is also minimum cos its only a one point contact.

seng kwang crash bar, shd b the ones that ssdc uses on their S4. ugly n expensive but it offers the best protection for the rider n the bike.

there is also difference is weight also...

if u wan a lighter one, then go for slider...

if u wan more protection, then go for crash bar...

how strong depends on the rider. some ppl can endure the vibrations but some ppl abit oso cannot.

Well, the 3 point crash bar I fitted on my s4 at HKL saved my bike engine totally... considering the impact i had at the NSH...

Because of the 3 point crash bar, my bike was virtually untouched. The damage was cosmetic.

By the way, 3 point crash bar WILL NOT cause vibration. That's just for mine... good luck! :goodluck:

how wide is your crashbar? is it wider than the bike body?

Just thinking should i get a crashbar that is wider.

One disadvantage of crashbar is that in the event of a crash, the bike will slide further than one using sliders. This is due to the rubber on sliders that will stop the bike from sliding too far.

yeah.. but sliders don't cover most parts of the engine.. I got a friend who scraped his engine casing cos of sliders. I personally prefer crashbars..

its like a bra.. feels more secure. But if you wanna go for looks, then nipple tape (sliders) are better for u =D~

wondering if there's any crashbar that sort of protects pillion legs? or if custom make is the only solution, how much would it cost?

doubt it will be cheap though.. and i don't think it'll look very good...

but for protection why not? Can do a USMS (army) for that .. =D

a little reluctant to put sidebox leh..

those D shaped crashbars by sengkwang also protect engine only? not able to take the 1st impact on the road before our legs does?

no lah. side box brackets alone don't do much.. primary contact is with the legs first, but with boxes, the primary contact point is with the boxes first.

so pray hard that the boxes hold out till u stop, or you'll experience some wicked road rash man..

how does the newest crashbar look like? i saw 1 s4 today at planet.. the crashbar is protruding out more than the ones i normally see.. i think that's good. any idea how much and where to get that? or is it customised?
