anyone , can cdi be repaired ?? how i can know the type of my super 4 ? i just bought ilegal,

can i track using machine serial number ??

tx

CDI can be repaired provided you can get the valuve of the components inside. The first thing is hoping that the components and circuit board is not sealed and enveloped with harden expoxy. If you get to the component...and eevn get the value through measurement means..you may not find the right replacement. Its not worth the time unless its a spare bad one. Moreover..you need a bench oscillascope to see the dc level (precise) and frequency rate of pulsing (precise)..in short, you better off just buying a new one.

There is difference between CDI among Vtec and non-vtec but among the series itself...I don't know. There is a part number silkscreened in the resin casing such as "MY9N 925Y 6Z17" (this is for PB1). Do not just replace..you have to know the version of your S4..as advance and timing is different...year made is not important.

No such thing as "ilegal" :slapforehead: and nothing for you to track.

You can buy advance CDI which can accomodate higher voltage but it requires you get a very experience mech to adjust advance and timing..even tunes with difference plug range..and oso need to work with a higher HT iginition coil otherwise there is bottle neck in overall performance.o_O Good luck if you going this way.

If the buy belongs to you...go check up your log card and see the year of manufactured. As for version model...Vtec or non-Vtec..you should be able to tell unless you are telling me you batman buying a S4.:D

Don't borther about the details up there...looks the same like mine and won't tell you anything but that the bike is yours if you hold the log card to it.o_O

Go to FJT, Chion Aik...they be able to tell you your part number..around %300+ I think..even LAB (much cheaper - oriiginal oso) or just any bike job (to get a secondhand unit)..which I did for spare incase of long distance remote trip.:bounce:
