wen u put it into neutral, is the neutral light on?

 

Yes, light is on, on neutral. I notice that the problems only happen when the head light is turn on, u can not start normally but only when clutch in.

Wen u say cannot start, isit thr is cranking but engine doesnt start, or thr is no cranking at all?

 

If intermitently got no cranking, then cud be ur starter motor carbon..

 

if crank but nv start, cud be ur battery weak or ur idling too low.. worse come to worse, planet shud be able to help... :)

lai lai lai, all the lao jiao.

 

how to tell if clutch plate is worn ah.

 

i suspect mine is. cause its slipping when i accelerate in 1st 2nd and 3rd gear. and there are times when downshift from 5th to what i thought is 1st. then when let out abit of clutch lever, the gear will POP into the lower gear, then i kick it down and the let out a bit of clutch lever, and then pop again to 1st.

 

not gearbox spoil right?!

February 2011 - March 2012 = Phantom TA 200

March 2012 - August 2013 = Suzuki Impulse 400

Present = BMW (Bus, MRT, Walk)

Hope you don't mind this idea. But it works. Install a master cut off switch, but must be able to hold 35 to 40As, as our bike starts with high amphere.

 

Thanks for your reply, does it works too by disconnect the wire connection from the battery ?

Since yesterday, my Phantom give me attitude. On the engine can give me a "Tsk!" Then shut down.

Today also like that. Must use choke. Then after riding, stop at the traffic light also "Tsk! Tsk! Tsk! Tsk!" :lol: But didn't stall.

 

Handle bar also shaking when I coast in neutral. Like need damper like lhat. :lol:

Motorcyclist are the nicest people on the road, try not to kill us.

ur idling speed ok? maybe in d middle of d nite ur bike turn the idler knob itself? :lol: joking bro.. sounds like ur carb is a little off.. try reset ur mixture screw to ur usual setting n make sure yr throttle cable is free?

Could be serious case of cam chain loose alr... causing the piston to ram into the valves. Ah chong ah! haha

does phantom needs a damper, never seen or heard before

 

It's the spring at the rear.... Technically the whole thing is called a coilover (the damper is inside the spring) but some people refer to it as damper.

Hi all,

 

My battery is flat. haven got time to go replace it, so have been push starting for the past few weeks.

 

I was push starting my bike when I accidentally let it slip away from me, (road is slippery, with all that rain.)

 

In addition to breaking my left mirror, I now find it hard to engage first gear.

 

the 2nd to 6th gears are fine, can change smoothly.

 

but when i step down from 2nd gear, it always stop at neutral. I can engage first gear only when i stomp hard on the lever, and even then, it sometimes may still slip back into neutral.

 

Any idea how bad is the damage? is it going to cost much for repairs?

Check your shifter angle. could be the shifter got 'moved' up or down whn the bike drop.

so whn you shift down, it actually hit the footrest bracket thingy. something like that, idk how to explain in words ah.

go to a work shop, check your shifter first. shd be external problem, nthg interior.

If idling speed put to very high can avoid stalling when "tsking".

But after the bike warm up, the bike can go on crusie control ! :lol:

 

Don't touch throttle also can go by itself when engaged gear. :lol:

 

Think it's a carb problem.

 

I tink d damper silent hunter was referring to is a steering damper thats mounted to handlebar or forks, which is nt necessary for cruisers la.. haha...

you may have an vampire load that is sucking the life of your battery..

bad charging voltage

or a screw up battery..

i love my ezzyoiler

experience the miracle...

where chain cleaning is history...
