honestly it depends on ur needs...

different card gives different privillages.

Basically, i only hold 2 cards.

one a UOB mini, other a DBS black card.

Cos the Black Card is an Amex, hence many discounts over the island. It include many makan deals as well.

UOB mini because not all places accept amex, hence u need a visa or mastercard... UOB also alot of makan deals. lolx

Don't worry. For UOB bank you put $10000 in for fixed deposit and you can get the credit card first year free.

Think $5k is for normal card while $10k is for gold cards.

If can put in $50k, will get platinum card. :cheeky:

they seem to be desperate to get ppl to fall into the debt trap so becareful with your credit.

caution not to let your credit roll over as the interest is high.

cards are good to earn points and get discounts on stuffs like pubs and restns.

remember not to let the card control you and... relying on future money is a bad bad bad habit

the application department will do a review on ya 'history' and tat determines where u get it anot.. usually if u have a suit or had bad debts or stuffs like tat u wun get it.. hope tis helps..

There's a central system which stores all bad credit records, known as 'Credit Bureau'. This system is available for use by all financial institutions, I think.

If a person's records are inside the bureau, most probably the banks wun approve his / her application. :cheeky:

Yeah! :cheer:

But the down part is...one gotta have min $50 cash rebate in his / her account before Citibank issues out the cheque.

Based on 0.5% cash rebate for everything, one gotta swipe at least $10k with the card before being eligible to get the cheque.

Wonder how long it'll take for normal spending?

By the time, the bank will start charging account holders for yearly subscription fees. Dun seem to be easy to clock $10k of credit card spendings in Spore within the first 'free' year by normal purchase pattern. :cheeky:
