Hi all, thinking about getting one geely CK1.5M or MK1.5M. (OPC)

Heard that it's has quite a good FC. Any reviews on these vehical?

I don't expect good speed & nice looking vehical.. Just need a car for the night n weekends.. However what concern me the most is the maintenance. Like will the parts gets damage easily? What's the common problem this car has? And most importantly is it reliable? Hope to fetch some positive & negative reviews from you guys. Thanks alot.

Regardless the bike model/brand. No matter how good/fast the bike is. Without skills the bike is nothing.

My close friend is driving one.. Super noisy air-con compressor, so loud it's actually scary.. Got water sip into the cabin, dunno air-con pipe of rain water.. Very rough ride and very very bad SP.. Rattling sound from every penal inside the car.. I think better look for another car..

Oic. Yea after seeing the reviews. I feel digusted about this car. Anyway i think i most probably getting the new 2008 Picanto. Looks ok and so far i heard not so much problem. Owning a car is hard enough already, but having a problem car all the time.. it makes ur life even harder..

Interior & exterior is much more nicer compare to the previous 1.. And this time they come with a pair side mirror signal. Whats more Picanto is much more reliable.. have'nt gone down to any fair or showroom yet. but seeing the price + opc rate i can get one 1.1M picanto for about 20K. But that's only for the machine. Anyway does anyone have any idea how much will the road tax cost and the insurance for a Off peak value picanto?

picanto 1.1m is a good choice in terms of price, built, looks, fc.. Saw very good review from the owners here, in many forums, and other online car review.

i was aiming for a yellow 1.1m after the recent coe dropped $1.6k. Was hoping that the price would drop correspondingly from $36,999. Unfortunately, the price was unchanged. somemore, most colours must wait for shipment which is 2 months later. So booked a daihatsu sirion instead.

insurance for opc car is usually a tiny fraction cheaper than regular car. road tax rebate for opc is $800 per year, and min r.tax payable is $50 per year. So you will be paying $50.

I am also looking at the Sirion or maybe Terios

picanto is term under mini car where geely MK,CK is under the small family saloon, diff car, diff needs,,in singapore,we tend to compare pricings rather than type of cars..but since u be looking into OPC,the roadtax don make a major diff..for insurance, the premiun diff between "normal" car n OPC is abt $200..

picanto(mini hatchback)...small compact, trendy looking, japanese built quality but not exactly exceptionally good, remember these cars r still built at a cost, small interior, small boot, ride not so comfy because of shorter wheelbase.maybe lack of power but because of its size,(power to weight ratio),it mite feels reasonable but when u begin to accelerate it hard, engine harness can be felt.its a good car to consider but u hve to consider wads yer purpose in getting a car n wad r yer needs.

geely MK CK (small family car)..bigger than picanto(doesnt take a rocket scientist to tell u this).this is far more inferior to the picanto in every way except in terms of space size which means 3 ppl can sit behind, more leg room n storage space.. i think the ride is more compliant as wheelbase is longer, but engine harshness i think is not up to par.i heard they using engines frm couple decades ago.its really a small family car for the bugdet concious family man.

well,simmz..now u have to ask yourself, what is yer actual purpose in gettin a car for the weekend?is it to bring the family out?do u use it juz for u alone or mostly with friends?wad is e type of car u favor?hatchback?saloon?

whether if its a family car or a bigger hatchback which u r considering, there are other alternatives to consider too,n they are at the same or lower pricing level but with more features...

as u can tell frm my last lines,im also in the car industries.if u r still open with yer choice of cars, leave a msg here n i will give u my contact number.

cheers dude!

Thanks so much for the advice. Yep i'll be utilizing a car mostly for weekend and most probably at night. My idea was to get a fuel econmically saving and yet reliable car. Don't expect good speed with this kind of budget range. As what you pay is what you get right? To be frank i'm quite a big size fella. About 187cm tall. So have not tried driving a picanto yet so can't give any hasty conclusion yet. But most importly is the comfortbility.
