Thanks for the info. Might go down to wonderful to change the engine oil and maybe let the mech. do a look over. Suspect the valves might need adjustments and maybe a tuning too. Wonderful at Mcpherson rite?

Hi Guys

Just took over a '00 YP250. I've got a question to ask those riding 250s.

Is it normal to hear hard knocking sound from the piston?

This only happens when bike is idling when rev the bike no more sound.

Sound as if the piston is knocking onto something. Can any body help?

Just went to botak. Found out the knocking sound I've experience the past few days was from the clutch assembly. Change the whole thing + belt, rollers and sliders, filter and now very smooth and silent. Botak very friendly and willing to explain everything very clearly. Trouble shooting skills also very good. My kind of mechanic.

Sean

My father went from Maj 250 to X9 to Hyosung GV250 and back to Maj 250 ..

He said the pick up on the X9 was better than the Maj, but parts are more expensive and he suffered more down-time. For him to go back to another Maj 250 over any other bikes says a lot .. :) so mush so that I bought one myself :)

I met someone who rode a Gilera Nexus, whose particular machine (it was claimed that no one else suffered his kind of problem here) gave him so much concern that he got rid of it. His biking history was an X9, RS250 and RS125 and his RS gave him much less down time that the X9/Nexus. He is now on the new Fazer.

Depends on what you want - the traditional italians concept of scootering is to produce ultra nimble and quick machines that will be used primarily in the city. The non italian approach seems to favour more comfort, practicality and refinement.

It's all relative ... afterall, two wheeling is an emotional thing. :thumb:

i already have 2 bikes with me but the reason to buy another bike is to replace my rxk.

in choosing a scooter my main criteria is that its able to replace the fuel consumtion of a rxk and more comfy with pillion.

as for performance i believe .. all bike can do mods

Pls advise
