hihi.. can i ask something about majesty 125? i'm interested in buying this yamaha majesty in classifieds which is claimed to be a 2002 fuel injection model which can run 39km/litre. but when i check the bike in lta website using it's number plate, it is a majesty yp125. are these 2 bikes different? it's registered in dec 2002 but manufactured in 2001. anyway is it a good buy at $2.5k? 6 years left... thanks lots!!!

I know for sure feul injected Yamaha scoots are the TMax 500 and the Majesty 400, not heard of smaller models being FI.

Be wary with fuel mileage claims - 39km/L at what speed? Perhaps at 50 km/h constant? Small engines made to work hard actually uses more fuel than a larger capacity machine.

I believe the 125 is a Europe model ... try a Yamaha europe search

I don't know man ... both buyers and sellers have their price expectations .. so, if you make an attractive enough offer, someone may just let go of their Mk 2. Likewise sellers have to offer a price attractive to tempt potential buyer .. so buyer n seller meet in the middle and you have a successful sale ..:)

..hahaha .. sorry, not helping much but what are you prepared to pay?

spotted a really really junky Mk 1 at ASPhoon Serangoon, not sure if it's running but price was quoted at 600 ... i guess if it's running and can force price down to 200-300, it will be a worthwhile project. COE left 2 years, but renewable once the necessary work done. So, lets tabulate my estimate:

All the bearings except for those in engine : 150

Transmission : 150

Tyres : 150

Fork oil/seal : 80

Engine mounting : 70

Engine flush and new oil : 50

Carbs cleaning and new plug : 70

That's $720 .. b4 machine price hmmm Malossi big bore :800, power cam 200 .. cosmetic work : 500

Total = 2220 before machine price / ins / rd tax etc ... and labour .. and assuming no serious problem :) ... if I have the time and money .. ...heeheehee ... doubt if anyone is bothered by this ..

Seems like for jap bikes, u can kinda minus 10km/l from it.

Maybe due to our local traffice.

Most jap specs is base on constant 60km/h.

most 250 says they can reach 40kmlh in specs. but in local, most comes back with a 30+km/l instead.

Actually u can try lah. but don't think u will like it.

Make sure u travel on expressway 90% of the time. and not more than 6000rpm.

I'm quite sure if you do that, u can achieve 40km/l

think the humidility of the country also counts!!!!!

Yea, air temp, altitude. humidity etc ... its a difficult combo to achieve. We can only claim to have good altitude - sea level and below sea level is ideal :) - we have horrible air temperature; cooler air actually have more air molecues packed together and of course wet air .. in a nut shell our bikes needs more juice to go.

Hi everyone,

I own a yr 2000 model yp250. (exactly the one in the pic) Its a great scoot I can say.

But recently, I noticed that the temperature meter needle is going up quite fast.

I have checked my coolant level in the right side of the scoot. But its full.

Could it be that the coolant in the radiator has clogged up or the temparature sensor is spoilt?

Can anyone recommed me a good workshop to look into this problem? I am worried that the engine would overheat annd cause mechanical problems later.

Thanks a million for your help...

Your answer had been asnwer in the other thread. Its either the collant pump failure or the thermostat sensor faulty. Have it check at your preferred workshop.

Might be coolant clogged too. :goodluck:
