Hi guys, need some advices. I'll need to get my bike latest by this coming wed.

I've found 2 bikes n they r both from the same bike shop.

Really headache which to get.

The biggest bike I've rode, (as in own the bike myself n ride till I sold it off, not borrow from friend for a short test ride.) is Yammie 04 r1. Slowest, but not the smallest cc is Yammie x1r. Smallest cc was Aprilia 98 rs125 when I 1st got my 2b donkey yrs ago.

The 2 bikes are

1:

2004 Yammie fz6s @ $7,500 machine.

Mileage 81k+. Black in colour, ermax high tinted windscreen, sliders, gpr endcans n h&b topbox wid rack.(dunno wad model or capacity but big n squarish. From my guess, think abt 45L to 50L. I also saw the rear sprocket looks like some aftmarket type but dunno wad brand. Comfirm not afam.

2:

2007 Yammie fz1s @ $13,500 machine.

Mileage 13k+. Original red wid some black. 1 owner. dunno wad brand high tinted windscreen, sliders, gpr endcan n some normal topbox(look like givi or kappa) wid oem rack.

1 is 6yrs old, 1 is 3 yrs old. mileage super different. 1 is 0.6L, 1 is 1L.

I love the inverted forks.

If same price of cos will get the fz1 but den its 6k more exp...

wantin to keep for few yrs. (Cos other den my rs125 ride 1 yr, rvf ride near 1 yr, the rest ,x1r, taiwan scoot, r1, atlantic 200, all less den 6mths.)

Using as daily transport, fc on the 6 is surely better but I really want(not need tho, who'll need also wor???) the 1's power. Believes the 1 handles better but 6 is lighter n more nimble I think.

Any imputs or suggestion to lean me towards the 6 or the 1?

Wan the 1 more but money is a consideration n the price tag is a deterant.

Like the 1's look more. Also scare regret the 6 cos scarly buy liao no power, not not enuff power to meet my expectation.

But wid 13.5k for machine, I can get a gsxr1k k6 or 04-06 r1. and quite a few others bikes more attractive den the fz1s(to me in my eyes at least.)

get the 6, save $6k n call it a day or any reasons to spend another 6k for the 1?

I LOVE my R1!!!:shades:

benson, let's not look at what you rode previously nor the accessories & how is the maintenances like & any damages on the fz6 & fz1 nor compare it with any other bike models...

let's look at prices vs mileage...

for a 6 yrs old fz6 w 81k mileage for $7.5k & a 3 yrs old fz1 w 13k mileage for $13.5k, i personally prefer the fz1 becus it's kinda super low on mileage...

it's kinda a very low usage bike to me... u no need to really worry into on certain top maintenances over fz1 over to that of to fz6...

jus fyi, my 7 wks old fz1 already having ard 7k mileage lo...

base on weight management...

yes, fz1 is heavier than fz6 base on specs but when u handles fz1 be it while riding or trying to push it around with bare hands, u will feel that fz1 has better weight distribution mainly due to its center gravitational force...

fuel consumption...

fz6 can roughly gets 290-320km for the 15.8L main tank...

fz1 can roughly gets 185-210km for the 14.6L main tank...

fz6 is more than enough for daily commuting & tourings and even tracks while fz1 of cus gives more power any time any day when u requires it...

so it all still drills down on how deep is your pocket and what is your requirements... cheers!

before u go look for a locksmitch and may make a mess out of it, perhaps u would like to visit m-technik to check with them if they have a spare key for your lock number or not...

who knows they might have...

if not, at the most, get them to change the lock & key set for you...

this may helps in case another person pick up your key and knows it's your bike and come to your box itchy fingers...

cheers! :)

anyone using Metzeler Sportec M1 tyre on their fz6? care to share how is the durability and the grip on wet weather is like?

Have not used M1 tyres on my FZ6. But I've been using Sportec M3. They are actually quite durable and the grip on wet weather has been good as well. Used the M3 since my Super Four days.

Go try it out!

Biking is something that everyone can learn and enjoy! :goodluck:

what is the mileage to change spark plug ar? mine 16k km liao

according to report (i can't rem where i saw this but u can perhaps google around)...

oem spark plugs (non-iridium ones) can last for 20+ to 30 K km but usually folks would change it at 10 K km or at 15 K km or 20 K km upon periodically monitor on its serviceability...

for iridium spark plugs, report to say that it can last for around 50 K km but folks usually would change it at 20 K km onwards...

bro, u might not need to purchase the whole rear fairing...

try dismantling your whole rear tail fairing to see which part is broken/spoiled then fix that area back...

it's pretty easy to dismantle the rear tail fairing... i did that before... :)

that one i tot is called seat handle fairing or something? number #17 in the picture below right?

if yes, from the looks if it, it (the handle) seems to be attached together with the fairing itself but if i'm not wrong, i ever see some nut thingy the holds them together...

if yes, perhaps u would like to look at how to securing back the nut area...

http://parts.yamaha-motor.com/partimage.gifx?d=165116,2,0,sport

perhaps you would like to strip it down to bone like my picture below then start working on the fairing itself offshore... that could be much easier...

good luck bro! :)

Hi everyone,

Any recommendation for exhuast pipe for fz6s 08???

not loud and hot and at affordable price??

u can perhaps go to unique's advertising page to look at the available ones & their pricing...

almost all aftermarket exhaust will be less hotter compared to stock...

for not too loud, try to look at yoshi... heard that it is not as loud compared to other aftermarket exhausts at low rpm...

for mid to high rpm, all are considerable loud...

this is what i know... hope it helps... cheers! :D
