How do I buy a used bike?

I finally moved to Singapore, settled down, converted my license and am ready to buy a bike. I'd like to know the procedures involved in buying a motorcycle in Singapore, meaning the actual steps, paperwork and costs.

 

For example, I saw a 2008 Honda CBR 600rr for sale. $16500 asking. How much are the transfer fees? How does insurance work? After I decided to buy, should I call my agent, get coverage first before riding off? More importantly, the motorcycle title and COE what is that like? Thank you.

just to chk wif you. when u convert ur license, is it direct convert or do u have to go thru the basics again b4 getting a CLass 2.

Who you buying from?

Private owner or a motorcycle shop?

 

If buying from owner, just buy an insurance for the bike under your name, and go down to LTA to do the transfer.

Cost of insurance up to the insurance company to decide.

Cost of transfer is $56.

 

If buying from a dealer or motrcycle shop, get the shop to do the paperwork.

if buy from owner also can go bike shop ask them do.. only need to pay them adminstration fee of 10 bucks if i`m not wrong. need to wait 1-2 days
