Uncle... your 160km/h should be 160km/hr.. Right? 160km per hour? Right?

 

BTW, Spark's meter is not accurate... It has a off set of about -10km/hr to 15km/hr.

 

So I guess you are refering to "Meter Speed". Should a Spark 135 be able to hit 160km/hr (true speed). I'll take my hat off the owner, as he must have gone some serious "SH*T!" to the bike!

 

The fastest Kup I ever witness was a Malaysian Honda EX5 trailing 155km/hr behind my ST1100 on my way up north to Hatyai. I totally salute (left hand! Not right!) the "Hero" because at that speed behind me... all I could see was his head light "drifting" left... right... left... right... on both my side mirrors! Thinking it was a fellow “Superbike”, I slowed down and filtered “left” to the second lane to give way. Only to witness our “Hero” laying flat on his Honda EX 5 Seat in:

 

Superman position!

 

Chest flat on the seat…!

Head low… behind the steering handle…!

Both legs spread straight, extending out behind and beyond the rear brake light!

*You get the idea!*

 

 

The first thing that hit me about this “Hero” was… …

 

“ALL BALLsss… No BRAIN!!!”

 

Guys... please... ...

 

These machines (kups) are not design for “Great Speed”…

 

They are design as iron horses!

 

These machines are work horses!!! Look at the thousands and thousands of Kupers across the boarder, who rides in and out daily across boarders on kups. Some times covering great distances across Malaysia. They could'nt have chosen a better mode of transport!

 

Kups are designed as very economical riding machines! Gives great mileage to the liter. Great value in $$$ in terms of running cost and maintenance. Lots of “Dress-Up” bits, enabling you to “pimp your ride to your hearts desire”.

 

Yes… I would agree that Kups now a day are unlike the Honda C50s & C70s from 20 - 30 years ago…Now a day; there are very sporty looking and “fast” kups in the market.

 

But please do take great care in “pimping you ride”. Personally, I see no point in “pimping your ride/kup” to go “Super Fast!” which in the first place designed with the aerodynamics to handle Sub 100km/hr - 120km/hr (est).

 

Yes… Speed is a very addictive “mojo”… How many times on the high way, I wish that my Spark 135cc would “Clear the Meter”! But please fellow kupers… always remember to respect your machine. Remember why you brought a Kup in the first place…

 

Enjoy your kup... for it'll bring you to great places! @ Very Low Cost... ...
