Crash Bars

I would like to ask if any brothers here have any intention of going to Sengkwang to custom make a pair of crash bar for their beloved bike.

 

Just wana try my luck and see how many brothers i can gather so that we can go down together and do a mass order so as to get a better price. (Maybe 200 - 300)

 

Interested parties pls leave name and contact number can ?

 

Btw, im riding a shadow ace 400.

hi recently just install crashbar on my shadow 400. A big mistake. The angle wasn't right + the clamp scratches my body paint. Please think twice. Go to a reputable one instead and not those DIY fit-it-all. Cheers!

By the way, I suggested Sengkwang because they do custom made stainless steel crash bars.

Sk quoted me 200+ the last time I was there. Think it is stainless steel if I am not wrong.

 

I fixed an extension to the gear lever which means when I am changing to higher gear, I just step back(Like Harley). I think I fixed it for $40. This saves me scratch marks on my Kenneth Cole and Zara Shoes.

Thanks for the info. Is it chrome plated as well? Chrome will match the bike well.

Its a good idea if you can bring along a printout of the design you want copied. While you're there, maybe you can have some saddlebag protectors made too if you use saddlebags, that is.

last quote i got from SK is 280-350 range (i am talking about those thick type of crash bars) dependent on design... i am riding a hyosung aquila btw, and i am trying to see how a crash bar on the shadow would look on a aquila.

 

am interested but holding back due to price. to go as mass grp, i doubt he will improve his prices. if u guys are going ... i dun mind getting to see what a mass order price would be like

Seems not many bros interested in installing crashbar for your beloved bikes.

 

It will save your legs as well as your engine and fuel tank should anything 'bad' happen.

I recently had a crash and the crashguards on my magna did their job perfectly.

No dents on the tank, signal lights and windshield. Just a slight scrape on the tip

of the exhaust. As for me, it gave me enough time to release my leg before getting

pinned.

Hi. I had mine fabricated here for only US$50 while the original Hondaline costs US$189. You can order the original one on the internet at Cruiser Customizing.

just wondering , besides protecting the engine and tank, would the crash bar actually prevent damages/ scratches on the exhaust pipes? since a cruiser is 'long' and heavy in its rear, would the crash bar actually be the only contact on the ground (apart from the tires) in the event of an accident?

Actually the main purpose of the crash bar is to protect your legs and to prevent them form being pinned under your bike in the event of a crash.

 

For bike protection (exhaust /rear area), maybe you can consider installing rear crash guards/crash bars as well.

since it's cruisers, u can install side-box/saddle-bags which will act as "cushion" if u drop ur bike.

 

u can add on rear crash bar (available for phantoms on pinkphantom.com) but need to customize other bikes..

but they look good only with saddle bags, otherwise bike will look like driving center bike

 

for ur exhaust, u can have "exhaust slider" (google for picture and price)..

i've only seen exhaust slider on DRZ or sportsbikes... never seen on cruiser before.

ah thanks! my fren recently skidded and his exhaust scratched. amazingly no harm done on the tank.

 

apparently he used the rear brake to hard to avoid collision hence, bike out of control.
